Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Whenever you say "scrap booking" all I can envision is you covered in glitter.

Hahahaha! I actually didn't use any this weekend. I don't know how that happened.

On another note I am sitting here catching up on AF, watching the ACM awards and crying because there is a wedding going on that stems from a heartbreaking and yet heartwarming love story.

Morning all. Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend.
Mine was good...but need a few more days. Oh well.

However....I saw my first Nexy owned by someone else this weekend. It is seriously the first one I have ever SEEN other than mine.....and the guy was having issues trying to Beam to an SII....it was pretty funny to watch them struggle tho, lol.....not a clue, either one of them. Its like the whole thing was a novelty? And like neither one of them was surprised when it did not work...? So I just stepped up and asked the Nexus owner how he liked his phone....showed him mine. He said that it was taking some getting used to, so different from his old iPhone. (I suggested checking his nfc settings and he and I traded contact info with Beam...) And then they were BOTH SHOCKED when I then paid for something with Wallet....it was a great encounter.
Happy Monday All!!

Wow, this phone really is the hotness!
HTC One X review -- Engadget
Morning everyone!

Good Morning Dread!

Wow, that One X looks like the bomb-diggity of a phone! Too bad it's in white, because the Chief doesn't do white phones after Labor Day... I'm just too irresistibly fashionable for that, you know :p

Morning all. At the hospital this morning, the wife has knee surgery. Her grandma came to watch the kids so I could be up here with her, which was nice.

All the best for your wife's surgery! I know it will be a success and a quick recovery :)

Tiger Direct wins for April Fool's jokes!

We all love a good April Fools joke, and I got a couple of decent ones in yesterday. Even Google introduced Google Maps in 8-bit for the NES. But Tiger Direct's effort takes the cake:

Good Morning everyone! Quick question, when I am in this forum on my laptop, the times posted for entries are correct (eastern time). However, if I am on the app, the times posted are an hour behind (central time). Can I fix this?
Yes, get Tapatalk. :D:p

I don't believe there is a way to fix the time stamp on the Phandroid app IIRC.

Good luck to Mrs. Antimony. I'm sure she will do just fine.

Good morning all!

Good morning everyone - hope you all had a good weekend.

Unfortunately didn't win the Mega Millions jackpot, but I did win $150 from one of my tickets and then won $300 from my March Madness bracket. Pretty good weekend overall.

Hope you all had an awesome weekend - hopefully not to busy this week so I can do some chatting and catching up of the internet since I was in training all of last week.

Well, just loaded up Liquid 1.25. So far, I love the mods vs. AOKP (though there's not a TON more). I'll see how it rides for a couple days.
Does anyone use "Power Saver"? I thought it was still problematic for the LTE version, but not sure if that was ever fixed.

I use Power Saver on AOKP, not sure if it's the same. The only issue I have with it on AOKP is sometimes it doesn't re-enable data automatically. This happens maybe 20% of the time and then you just have to go re-enable it under the mobile data usage settings. No biggie and definitely worth the power savings for me.

I've never tried it. How does this differ from Juice Defender? (not that I use it)
I'll give it a shot today and see how the wake/data reconnect time is.
My Prime has a built in setting for disabling Wifi while the screen is off. Very handy and works extremely well.

Edit: Just wanted to add, Liquids boot animation is SWEEET! Their team always does a great job with them.
And they never include any stupid pink unicorns :p

Wish AOKP didn't have the pink unicorn too, lol. Love the builds other than that.

As for how it differs from JD...Not a ton. JD has a lot more options to disable under certain scenarios and such where as the baked in power saver option is basically just turn off data and/or sync and/or wifi when screen is off and re-enable on wake as well as a delay and sync scheduler, from what I remember. I leave wifi enabled as long as wifi toggles alone under power saver. I turn it off at work to keep it from searching and turn it on at home to keep it connected. I just turn off my mobile data when screen is off. If I'm at work it keeps it from polling all the time without signal (which happens a lot in my building) and at home it is on wifi so the data is unaffected.

Not going to take time to post a graph of any data yet because I'm on my first day of not running optimized screen settings, but it looks as thought you reduce power consumption of the screen by at least 20-25% using my tweaks as opposed to leaving it on 100% brightness all the time. I'm finding it's really hard to isolate the power the screen uses from the power the overall phone uses even going by what the Android system reports as "Screen" percentage used. So far it is looking like overall device consumption goes up as well as screen consumption goes up which means the Android system isn't properly reporting isolated screen consumption. Could just be early results being skewed by the apps I am using just a couple of hours into the test at 100% brightness.

If early indications hold true, you could reduce overall power consumption of the phone by at least 20% though.
