Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

lol

We're going, but my wife told me I have to cover my eyes during the bewbs scene. I probably slobbered a bit too much last time we saw it.

HAHA! The wife makes me cover my eyes too. But turn about is fair play, I cover hers during any shirtless guy scenes :p

I was still in middle school when the original came out and the parents decided to wait till it came out on VHS (yeah, VHS) to watch it. They fast-forwarded through a couple of parts so my Titanic experience has holes in it of scenes I never got to watch, that included the nude sketch scene....frankly the only reason a middle school boy would have any interest in watching that movie, lol.

I think I might have been a freshman in HS when it came out, or maybe 8th grade, don't remember. But I do remember that I thought it was a great movie. The storyline is pretty good; the first time I watched it, I almost forgot that they were heading for disaster.

Another one I'm looking forward to this year is the final Batman film. I hope it tops the first 2. I have purposefully refused to watch any trailers or read anything about it. I want to be totally surprised. My wife and I went to a movie a few months ago and they had the trailer. I closed my eyes and put my hands over my ears and softly hummed.

Initial results from my screen brightness level tweak study are in. Definitely see gains. I averaged together the 4 days I ran my tweaked screen brightness levels which you see on the Green bar and the 2 days I've ran at 100% brightness so far and that is your Blue bar. The other two are power usage averages for the rest of the phone processes combined without the screen usage (GPS, WIFI, processes, etc) I ran different processes, especially for a couple of days, with my tweaked screen levels so that's why you see a little higher system usage there more than likely, pretty small difference.

You can see, with 100% brightness, I was calculating about 10.9 mAh/min of screen on time. With tweaked levels I was averaging about 7.9 mAh/min. So from 100% brightness all the time to optimizing your brightness, you can see about a 30% decrease in power usage from your screen.

Side note: I noticed with the 100% brightness, I could make the power consumption increase quite a bit by using apps/visiting websites with white backgrounds. Makes a HUGE difference. I could make the running average bump up at least 1-2 mAh/min just by doing something on a white background for 5-10 minutes.

Another key difference, which makes sense and supports my findings so far is that your screen percentage under battery stats hovers around 60% with 100% brightness and around 42% with my tweaked settings.

Keep in mind that with my tweaked settings, this was automatically controlled and did see full 100% brightness occasionally (any time I was in full sun) and anywhere else in between.

Instagram is more for the social network aspect rather than the filters for me although it does take really awesome pictures.

I definitely want to see Titanic in 3D. Pretty crazy that it is going to be 100 years since the sinking this year. I remember when the movie first came out and it was on 2 VHS tapes because it was so long.

Somethings gotta go...
Droid X
or
Xoom

Both have service, but neither gets used outside the house and with unlimited 4g tethering on my Nexus, kind of a moot point (and waste of cash) to have the other two lines sitting around the house. The Xoom was to use during storm chasing season while at work or if I was actually chasing.

The xoom or macbook pro can be tethered to my Nexus. The only issue I see is the occasional radio glitch with my data on the Nexus. If I had the droidx and my nexus radio "burped" during tracking a storm, that would not be good, more so if I was chasing the sucker.

Both the xoom and droidx contracts end a couple months apart, in 2013. I figure if nothing else, my sister has an iPhone 4s with tethering if the network is being goofy.

Hmmm..
Droid x or Xoom. Both probably need to go but the ETFs are going to be a bit steep.

Self quote for the win :p

Well, I did some thinking and I think the Droid x is going to get the ax since its got data (2gig) texting and voice. It would save me a bit more in the long run since the Xoom uses data only

I got to say that the ICS seen has been pretty quiet since the Gnex came out. Everyone thought that the Razr and Resound would have had ICS by now. <<< Very strange.

I knew it wasn't coming to those devices for a while. RAZR fans swore up and down it was coming in February. But with Verizon being Verizon, I don't think they should have kept their hopes up. At all.

As per P3droid, I thought it was leaked already? I know there's a few versions out for my wife's Bionic but I haven't taken the time to load a new ROM. That thing is a pain for ROMing with dealing with bootstrap and all it entails.

I wouldn't know about that. I stopped looking for the Windsock's opinions long, long ago.
