I just learned a lesson.. I went to ebay and found some accessories - OEM HTC 11-pin usb adapters etc.. I bought a bundle of a car charger, home charger and USB cable listed like this 'Car+AC charger+USB for HTC G1 T-mobile MyTouch Dash 3G' .. After buying this thing, I discovered that the devices are not compatible with the MyTouch... Instead these chargers use a standard 5-pin mini USB connector, not the 11-pin connector on the mytouch. The seller claims that, even though the connectors are different shape, it can still be plugged in and it will charge.. This is absolutely not so with the MyTouch. I still need chargers so I began looking online again and have found many many listings of chargers for the MyTouch, that if you look at the pictures, have the same mini USB connector. I keep seeing chargers listed to be compatible with the MyTouch when actually they mean the other 'touch' phones from HTC (the dash or the diamond for example) which use different connectors. Over and over I found the 'touch' phones listed as 'MyTouch'.. If you buy some chargers for the MyTouch, make sure it has the 11-pin HTC connector, or buy one of the 11-pin USB adapters (but who wants to use a dongle?)

Go ahead and pay $30 for one that says HTC or T-Mobile. I'll be using my straight from Hong Kong $2 ones.

Did you read my post? I wasnt suggesting to buy $30 chargers. I suggested that it is wise to make sure it works with the MyTouch since they are mis-representing chargers that are compatible with the 'Touch Diamond' and the 'Touch Dash'.. I have the charger.. it plugs in but won't charge my phone.. Maybe the charger is compatible but doesnt work because it is a 2$ one from Hong Kong..

Please read the posts more carefully before making snide remarks. I posted my experiences to try to help others who might be having the same issues as me. You could have been more tactful in your response.

And that's the point of a 2$ charger, if it brakes, you get a new one.

A simple paragraph outlining my experiences.. I took the time to include enough information to be clear.. I dont know what was so brutal about it.
