Will the Incredible be too slow?

I saw a multitouch video the other day that compared the droid to the N1 running a multitouch test application. The purpose, I believe was to prove that multitouch on android was not a SW issue, but an application problem.

Anyway, during the video, the tester made a comment or two about the test application running a bit smoother on Droid...

Could this be because of the Sense UI?

Will the Incredible suffer the same issues?

How would the N1 run slower because of Sense UI when it doesn't have Sense UI? Was this a N1 with a custom ROM? To me the Droid was slow and I think it has more to do with stock Android not optimized as well as Sense.

I think the reason he made this comment, is because the points get jumpy when the sensor on the n1 screw up the multitouch points. When it does this it doesn't seem to run as smoothly because it looks like it's lagging and jumping, but it's more of the hardware's error that causes this.

Not a problem, the N1 is the only recently released HTC phone without Sense.
I'd have to watch the video you are talking about. As I said going from home panel to home panel the Droid seemed slowed then the Eris (which has a slower processor then the Droid). I only had a Droid for 2 weeks so I can't think of why it would be faster then the N1.

It only seems to lag in the second application. yet the N1 seems faster in the first (dots dont lag behind the fingers as much). Just not a grand test of responsiveness.

So you don't think that a phone running sense is going to run slower than say another phone running straight Android? I was just wondering what kind of hit sense has on the processor...

I love the interface and even if it did possibly cause a little lag, it would be worth it to me.

Well SenseUI is a beefier UI where you can do a whole lot more with your phone. Does it use up more cycles (slower?) and RAM? YES it does. Will you notice it? NO you won't.

The 1ghz snapdragon is fast and having it paired with 512MB RAM (320MB free) is a LOT for a phone. Remember it's a phone and it has a 1ghz processor with 512MB of RAM!

So you don't think that a phone running sense is going to run slower than say another phone running straight Android? I was just wondering what kind of hit sense has on the processor...

Bit of an old thread, don't see the point in the bump. Anyways, the multi-touch issue had nothing to do with processor speed and the Incredible does not even have this issue.

Droid has a dedicated PowerVR SGX 530 GPU while the Snapdragon uses an Adreno 200 GPU (it's a dated GPU Qualcomm acquired from ATI a couple years ago) built-in with the rest of the system, from what I understand. The Droid is better in 3D graphics.
