ICS... CSC are you eligible for an update?

Hi, same problem. Upgrade via Kies worked fine, then one day it just froze and stopped working, wouldn't boot anymore. Sent my phone back for repair, and received it with a new moterboard (and newer version of firmware). Since then, get the error message in Kies "device does not support software upgrading via Kies."

PDA: I9100XXKI4
PHONE: I9100XXKI4
CSC: I9100OXAKI4
Build info: Tue Sep 27 16:33:36 KST 2011

How can I solve this? And is it eligible for ICS?

Thank you in advance for your help !!

Hello and welcome to Android Forums Stargasm! :)

OXA is a multi language pack and there has been no ICS release for it yet.

As for Kies not supporting software upgrading, this could be because a different firmware version to your original was flashed after repair and it does not match your phone's ID. Without knowing your original codes, I cannot say for sure. I would take it to a Samsung Service Point and ask them or get them to flash ICS for you.

I would update it today but do you know if I update it if it will cancel my warranty for the phone? I have bought a 3 year warranty for it and I don't want it to not count if I update it and something happens to it.

With Bell in Canada with a 3 year plan and I bought a 3 year warranty plan too.

Updating your phone to the official ICS firmware for your make and model, via Kies, should not affect your warranty. However, flashing it via Odin or rooting your phone, almost certainly will.

I have the CSC code OLC which I can't find anywhere. Phone is unlocked, my carrier is Vodafone NZ and bought it from Singapore airport duty free.
Kies 2 says CSC:KL2 (XSP).
Simple question please: can I update to ICS?
Thanks in advance!

Your CSC is XSP, for Singapore as shown in post #2, and no update has been released for this yet.

Thanks! I too am having difficulty in tracking that one down.

"O", is usually representative of a sim free multi language pack, above and beyond the language packs installed normally. For instance, they may decide to expand, say, an Asian language pack. I have been adding any "O" CSC codes as, and when, Samsung show a release for one.

Just out of curiosity, where did you purchase your phone, is it locked to a carrier and has it ever been in for repair. I've heard of a few people who have "O" codes on their phones after repairs by Samsung.... this could be coincidence however.

Hello. I'm new here :) my csc has the H3G in it. How come it still says there is no update?? Thank-you.

An update has been released for the CSC, H3G, as per post #2.

Providing you are running the carrier branded firmware and kernel that came with the phone, I would take it to the nearest Three or Samsung Service Point and ask them to update it for you.

I only got The phone yesterday. He said it had been unlocked. So guessing its under The sim free category now. How can I find out if running the official firmware and baseband ??

Settings > About phone... will give you the current baseband.

Unlocking it may have affected your ability to update via Kies and void your warranty. Was this done by a Three Service centre or representative?

My baseband is I900NEKI2 And I don't know. I only bought it yesterday from ebay. What are my best options??

The NE shows that you have a H3G, Nordic phone, Sweden. See Network Carrier codes, here:-

SamMobile Firmware Page

Your phone may also be rooted. Download, Root Checker, free from the Play Store, to check this. If it is rooted, see post #1. If not, you will have to wait for the Three release of ICS in Sweden.

Just checked and its not rooted so when it becomes available in sweeden I can update?? Also I keep getting unknown device error when connecting to kies via usb. I updated kies last night and it just give me the error all the time? Thanks

If you are based in the UK, you might as well download and install the latest ICS, Three, firmware, XXLPQ, via Odin.

I rooted my last phone and it didnt benefit me so if I choose to wait for it to be released in sweeden will it defiantly update via kies??

If you can tell me if that is the original firmware that the phone came with and hasn't been flashed or un-rooted... yes, providing you sort your connection problem out with Kies first.
