Root Amazing battery life with 2.1!

I recently went to my first real 2.1 build that I'm keeping for a while, it's an ese53 build one. Anyway my setcpu is at 550/250 all the time because this thing is so freakin fast at stock speed. Well it seems to take 3-4 hours before I even loose 10% of my battery, I will try a full day of no plugging it in tomorrow and see how it lasts, but it's always very cool to the touch, fast, and battery seems like it'll last 2 days.

My usual battery is about 12 hours but I was over clocked to 1000+

I've noticed this too. The ERE25 and ESE53 builds are much better in terms of battery life.

By the way, have you seen this thread?

[Release] Smoked Glass Boot *Updated 03/08* (ALL Builds/Voltages - 42 Kernels)

It has the choice to flash an OC kernel, with low voltages! I'm running the 1.2GHz one at the lowest voltage possible. Still getting great battery life, and I hardly get temps over 35C.

It's amazing!

I've been really surprised with the battery life since flashing a 2.1 ROM. I took my Droid off the charger at 6:30 am and it's now 1:00 am and I still have 3/4 of a charge. Granted, I haven't used my phone much today, but still, that is WAAAAY more battery life than I was getting before.

I need to look at Adamz new ROMs with the all the different kernels. Damn, more flashing in my future. And I thought I was actually done for awhile. :D

Yep, I've been running ESE53 with no OC (except my sleep profile is set to 250) and my battery life has been phenominal. It hasn't been this good since I first got my phone. I'm tempted to look into the ROM Fab posted above but I don't want to change anything because my phone is running so good now.

Great find!!! Also running 35c at 1200 (low voltage) :)

Well when my alarm went off this morning, I rolled over to turn it off, and my phone froze, so I had to reset it, then about 3 hours later, I went to get my phone out and it was black, couldn't get anything to come up, so battery pull, and it's fine now.

Oh, I'm running at 250/550 still with the low voltage, and I'm at 90% after 4 hours off charger!

unplugged it at 7am, it's 2:30pm, 7 1/2 hours, and on 80% according to the stock battery meter, amazing!

Guess I know what i am doing tonight.. what battery meter are you using?

mine has been off the charger 9h 3m no calls made but surfed a bit and checked email a few times (3G, not WiFi)

OEM says 80%,

Battery Left says 77% Est, 80% System

Oh this is Pete's BB V0.4 ERE25, Stock Kernel

Installed one of Adamz low voltage kernels.. the 1.2 I believe and have noticed my battery is fairing pretty well also. Been off the charger for 7hr10min and is sitting at 80%. That's after making a few 30 minute phone calls, and doing some browsing.

I, like others here, have also clocked back to stock speeds since the phone is still just as snappy after 2.1.

i too am seeing excelent battery life but something strange i encountered. my battery was sitting at 40% after 13 hours, i got a call and it made my phone reboot. when it came back online my battery was back up to 60% and is still sitting at 50% 3 hours later. never seen the battery go up before it was strange
