Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Hey Chief, check your bedside charger, I have multiple chargers at my house and one of them stopped working.

Thanks Copacetic, but my bedside charger actually ISN'T one: I simply plug my Nexus straight into the wall and then lean it at an angle on my Capta.

So I'm going to see tonight whether the standard battery charges overnight... if so, then it's the extended battery. If not, then I may be looking at unloading a WHOLE boatload of data and swapping out for a new Ginny

After our earlier conversation about Instagram I found this and had to share:

I'm a big fan of Unibroue! Trois Pistoles is a great brew. Only problem with their beers is they use the same yeast for all of them so they have similar flavors. La Fin du Monde is probably my favorite of theirs.

Last night was my first time drinking it. I really felt the 9%. When she handed me the glass and I saw how dark it was I was disappointed, but when I tasted it I was...wow, this is good. I can't pronounce it though. I just pointed at it and said give me this.

Chief, when you say you plug Ginny right into the wall, you mean with a usb cable? That's what died on one of mine, see if it charges with another cable. You never know....;)

I appreciate the brainstorming! :)

Actually, Copacetic, the original 4' cable that came with the Nexus failed completely after only 2 weeks, and Verizon graciously replaced it with a 9' cable - retail $30! - for free, under warranty. I KNOW the cable's good, because I can plug in the phone and it charges.

For some reason, though, it's not wanting to charge at night as fast as the desk clock screen saver depletes it. I've used my phone as my night stand alarm clock since Launch Day, so I know it should work fine. But either the extended battery isn't charging as fast as it's depleting, or the charging circuits are expending power faster than the phone takes it in.

Tonight's the big test. If it still happens with the standard battery, I have a feeling I'll be spending the day tomorrow unloading photos, music, movies, and drawing my homescreen layouts on paper so I can reinvent them with the new phone. I REALLY hope Ginny's okay and the standard battery works...

Keep the ideas coming, though!

THOUGHT OF YOU GUYS WHEN I RECEIVED THIS...:D

You know you're a nerd/tech geek when:

1. You accidentally enter your PIN on the microwave.

2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years.

3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of three.

4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you.

5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses.

6. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home to help you carry in the groceries.

7. You text your kid/spouse/S.O. IN THE NEXT ROOM instead of getting up to talk to them in person.

8. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't even have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it.

10. You get up in the morning and go on-line before getting your coffee.

11. You start tilting your head sideways to smile. : )

12. You're reading this and nodding and laughing.

13. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to send this message.

14. You are too busy multi-tasking to notice there was no #9 on this list.

15. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.

ARE YOU GUILTY? WHICH ONES?

Could you have something else running in the background at night? I had an issue where the Nexus was charging, navigating, streaming and logging on and off the 4g tower and at about 13 hours it died. It was using slightly more power than it was receiving via the charger. Also, when I have had to wipe my device, I took screen shots of the home pages then uploaded then to drop box and pulled them up on my laptop or use air droid to transfer to the laptop. As they say picture is worth a thousand words!

<---- Bonafide nerd / tech geek

EDIT: Actually, Copacetic, I frequently clear out and close my active apps, leaving maybe TWO open (the desk clock and a shopping list). Juice Defender Plus actually turns off my 4G except for polling when I'm not actively using it. No navigation - I only use that for trips and usually my GPS is turned off.

Heck if I know what's going on... good idea on the screen shots though!

If I was going to make a bet, Dread would not have been the one of our group to make such a statement. And I'm too much of a gentleman to even think about posting a name or initials of the most likely member of this association to do so.

Alright, alright, I get it.
Morning everyone!
I woke up early (supposed to sleep in since it's my day off). I'm extremely congested and it sucks. Not sure if it's still just allergies or something else. Pollen count is supposedly very high as per the local news. Guess I'll be headed out to pick up some drugs later on. Thankfully I can just take it easy today.

Well I wonder who you could possibly be talking about?
