Okay, a new poll for you to consider. Do you think the "Incredible" will still be named so at launch? I'm thinking historically HTC uses code names for their phones. The Desire became the Droid Eris, the Bravo became Desire, the Passion became Nexus One, the Whitestone became Imagio, the Leo became HD2, etc.. So with this logic, isn't it likely that this phone will be renamed to something else? I mean, don't get me wrong, I like the name "Incredible" but I'm beginning to wonder if it will stick. This would also explain why most Verizon employees who are asked about the "Incredible" have never heard of it. And if this phone is nearing launch like we hope, then should become more rare. Food for thought.

One piece of evidence that we have to suggest that it will stay the same is how it showed up in Verizon's inventory system as HTC INC.
HTC Incredible shows up in Verizon’s inventory system? Unwired View
I realize that INC could also mean Incorporated but why would they use such a generic name for a phone in their system when they sell other phones by HTC already. I really don't care what they call it, I just hope we get it sooner than later. I have to say that waiting for something like this to come out is getting really, really, really old. I'll be glad when i can stop watching the forums for updates and start actually enjoying my new phone for a while.

Keep hope alive!

Back on topic; I just hope it's truly worthy of being called the "Incredible Droid"! :)
I think politics will come into play if they were to name it that, and alot of Droid customers who were blown away by the "Droid Does" slogan will now feel jipped that there is an "incredible" version of their phone. Probably not the smartest idea for VZW to discriminate towards that populace considering how many phones were bought.

God i hope not. I'm SO sick of this name it's incredible.

Here are a few of my suggestions:

HTC Hype - to create interest in by flamboyant or dramatic methods; promote or publicize showily
HTC Mystery - anything that is kept secret or remains unexplained or unknown
HTC Mystic - involving or characterized by esoteric, otherworldly, or symbolic practices or content, as certain religious ceremonies and art; spiritually significant; ethereal.
HTC Sphinx - a mysterious, inscrutable person or thing, esp. one given to enigmatic questions or answers.
HTC NEO - Verizon rebranded Nexus "One" - anyone? It's my fave.

It's here in B&W so if it's any of these what do i win? Nothin.

Just dont name it the incredible, please.

Going off past HTC codenames and final names, I'm 100% sure the Incredible will be launched with a different name. And I don't care if it's showing in Verizon's inventory as the HTC Incredible (means nothing until the phone is actually announced), that the name Incredible has been trademarked by HTC (that doesn't mean they HAVE to call the phone that), or even that the name Incredible was stenciled on a prototype (One: it's a prototype, NOT final version. Two: It's just a stencil, they can be remade and changed quickly. Three: do ANY HTC phones have the name stenciled anywhere on them when they launch?) Anyways, looking at past history, it will not be the Incedible when it finally launches... with Duke Nukem Forever and Gran Turismo 5! :)

Okay guys, so since I started this thread/poll there has been some interesting finds over on the "Official" thread. Seems more likely that it won't be called "Incredible" at launch. Now if the rumored mid-april launch holds up we should have an announcement from Verizon in the next week or two hopefully. Then we will all know what the name will be for sure.

I think time is running out to get your vote in. I see the tide turning in the results as more people are coming to the same conclusions. I wonder how many people voted "Yes" would like to change their vote?

I think that it will still keep the Incredible name, The SS did change to EVO but as far as I can remember the device didn't have the name on the phone while tested. The incredible did. Only time will tell.

Not true, as you can see in the picture below, it was labeled "Supersonic" on the test device.

Not sure if Trailblazer31 is a contributor here or not, but trying to get Eldar Murtazin to elaborate on his reply. He is editor in chief at mobile review, and a frequent source for information here at phandroid as well as engadget

Initial message:
TrailBlazer31 @eldarmurtazin Hate to bug you but do you have ANY info in your supply line about the HTC Incredible (ADR6300)?

Reply:
@TrailBlazer31 another name of that device? i see it for sure

Could possibly be confirmation for what many of us already believe: a name change.
