Hello-
I am a brand new Android user coming from many years of Exchange activated Blackberry use. I finally converted as the Amaze GPS works without a cell signal which is important for me.

Question:
I am not sure if it is because the card I used was used for my BB before but the HTC made 2 partitions on the card. I erased the card and let the HTC format the card and it still made a 10GB "HTC STORAGE" partition and a 2nd partition with no name just "Removable Disk" of about 28 or 29GB (is a 32GB card)

Is this normal?

Thanks,

O

That's the phone's internal storage.

and a 2nd partition with no name just "Removable Disk" of about 28 or 29GB (is a 32GB card)
That's actually the SD card.

IOW, it's NOT 2 partitions on the SD card.

Oh man that was such a n00b mistake. The math is not that difficult. Hah. 29GB plus 10GB= 39GB, all on a 32GB card!
Seriously though I was confused. I'm still not totally clear on how it all works. I seem to see 3 different storage spaces referenced in in the "Storage" setting on the phone:

SD Card
Phone storage
Internal storage

Now I understand SD Card, but why are phone and internal separate?

Thanks much for your clarification!

Phone storage is a Linux file system partition of the internal 16GB storage for the OS & apps. Internal storage is the rest of the 16GB formatted as FAT32 for data.
