Help unable to connect to gt-i9100. failed to retrieve device information

Hello Guys,

I have installed ICS update via Samsung Kies for my S2. After that i can't connect to Kies .
I am getting below Message on Kies.

I have the same problem !!

update my SGS2 from Android 2.3.5 to Android 4.0.3 with KIES.

Now I have:

Modelnumber : GT-I9100
Android Version: 4.0.3
I9100XXLPQ
Buildnumber IML74K.XXLPQ

USB connection works (Windows 7). I see the Phone and can write to phone file system.

BUT KIES !!!

unable to connect to gt-i9100. failed to retrieve device information !!!

WHY !

How I can solve it

Try remove sim from phone and try again to connect. Work for me!

WHY !

How I can solve it

Just did the same here..... Just make sure you take out your sim card give it another go. You may have to close down KIES and relaunch it. But that definately worked for me.

My suggestion is to try the connection troubleshooter in KIES itself, or uninstall the Samsung USB drivers, clean your registry, reboot your PC and then reinstall the drivers again and see if that solves your issue.
