I Unrooted my phone this morning..

After having issues with a rom that made my text and calls not come through at all!

Wiped it, tried another rom..NOTHING!

then another ROM! Nothing..

my last resort was to unroot...as soon as I unrooted ..

my text messages came in ..had 15 vm's from last night ...

and the phone it's not lagging either ...but the battery it's a problem though..

I'm over here debating ...should I root again or keep it unrooted?

I'd say, if you're happy with the performance of stock after un-rooting, then don't bother rooting again.

Me, I can't help but tinker, so even if I have issues, I'll stay rooted and tinker some more lol

i would say root again. Fresh just came out with a new rom that will be available very soon. Just throw some sand on that baby. lol

everything was working perfectly fine before that..

i flashed it..had FC's ...then i went back to pancake ..next I know everything got messed up..

and right now still messed up..i can't download pics ...this sucks..

and yes I'm going to root again lol

i was gonna flash that rom but then i decided to wait and see how it turns out for other people and i saw people were having problems so i decided not to. good luck though...and i would say root again

I've found that if I flash too much, things will just start messing up. Wiping doesn't fix it. Nandroid backups don't work for it either. What I do then is wipe and reflash a ROM that was working perfectly before. It seems to fix it. Then I just reflash the ROM I was trying to flash in the first place. No problems after that.

I had the same issue after loading that rom. It was a nice looking rom, but as soon as I flashed and started palying around it was like my phone was worse off than my stock Hero.

I've sinced gone back to Fresh1.1 with Gumbo. My phone still hasnt been the same since flashing Alyosius. I would keep on flashing, my rooted phone is still faster than it was stock. Thanks to all the Devs!

Definitely root and get the new rom that Fresh is going to be releasing soon, 2.01 and a new radio update also that saves the battery life. Very fast and smooth with working camera, still a few issues but they are constantly working on it!

Yes I re-rooted again..

did a full wipe on the phone..dalvik and image boot wipe + data/sys wipe ...

after that I threw Fresh 1.1 ROM ...my text messages and calls started to work as I expected....flashed Pancake ROM and my phone is working as it should....

The Aloysious and Souffle ROM's are the only two rom's that I ever had issues with ..

I suggest if you do try those ROM's, just be very careful though ..

Can you give me the steps that you took and where you got the RUU to unroot. I am trying to sell my phone this week. I went back to the pre until sprint gets the supersonic.

I used the Sprint/CDMA Hero RUU 1.29.651.1 Release Software ...that one worked perfectly fine for me, then I updated to 1.5 ...

I wouldn't recommend people to unroot with RUU 1.56 ..It can brick your phone ...

either one can brick the phone... rooting can brick the phone.. flashing a rom can brick the phone.. dropping it in water can brick the phone.. at least sand is still a safe option

I've read about 2 people bricking their phones using the 1.56 RUU ...

But IMO, the 1.29 RUU it's safer though....I'm just saying, so people don't go do what i do lol

I tried the 1.56 and that just wouldn't work for some reason. I decided to go back to 1.29 and that worked the first time. I also notice that will fix the youtube problem that everyone complains about...including me. Oh well I guess I should have done that a long time ago. Figures that it is working with 1.29 and now I am getting rid of the phone. I don't know if it would be worth dealing with the issues with 1.29 for just the youtube fix alone though

Sorry Dfresh about your issues with Aloysius. Some liked it, and had no probs....and some didn't like it at all, and had some major issues. Odd that there was two very different outcomes with the same device.

However, it will not happen again...as I will not be putting anymore ROMS together....unless it is for my own personal use. I'm taking gbhills advice and "for my own sanity" keeping it to myself. It was great and awesome hearing all the compliments on the ROM, until some folks started having problems that others and I were not.....and NOT being a insanely awesome DEV like the big dawgs, I had no idea what to do to help.

From here on out...I will "tinker" (like tatonka) with the true dev's ROMS and report back...but I'm out of the whole "releasing" business, cause it kills my soul to see I could have caused damage or problems to others.

GLAD to see you are still on the dark side of rooting, and I hope all is well with your Hero.

Don't take it as I was trying to bash you, because I wasn't and never would do that. At least you're trying and don't give up if you like doing roms for others, things like this can only make you get better as time goes.

Hey I gave it a try didn't I? maybe your rom and my phone didn't get along at all and that was it..
