Root Axiom ICS Rom

Anybody use this? Does it fix the connection issues with the internet not working? Would you recommend this ROM?

Thanks

It's a pretty sweet rom and runs quite fast. The camcorder doesn't work which doesn't really make a difference to me. What does make a difference to me is hardware acceleration doesn't work which can prevent you from playing games on your phone. My phone has froze several times while playing wordfeud and i have to pull the battery. Also to watch youtube videos you have to enable the hd setting so the videos dont play choppy. Lastly the data connection is pretty solid now but if i try and go in airplane mode while my phone is idol i pretty much always have to reboot the phone to get data again. And if you have happen by chance just to randomly drop you might have to reboot as well. It's definitely worth a download just to check it out and get a taste of what ics will be like on your Bionic though.

Axi0m is probably the best ICS ROM worth checking out in my opinion. Not sure what you mean about internet not working, whether you are referring to the 4g data connection in general or if you meant wifi, but 4G works. Wifi should too but I know I've seen people talking about wifi disconnecting a lot on the ICS ROMs so I'm not sure how Axi0m is about that, I never put my phone into wifi mode.

Like New Rising though, I got a little tired of not having hardware acceleration and a few other issues, so I'm just back to using Eclipse 2.2 for now. You have to make some pretty significant sacrifices if you want to use ICS right now. I felt weird owning a Bionic but never being able to really play a game or watch a flash video. The developers of all the ICS ROMs are working almost every day to figure the rest of this stuff out so I'm not saying it's their fault.

If you mainly call text and browse you'll be happy on an ICS ROM at this point. If you want the full functionality of your Bionic then just hold on a little longer.

+1... it is my ROM of choice right now

If hardware acceleration gets fixed i'll be all over it. I don't play many games but i do often play wordfeud and words with friends. Wordfeud sometimes works fine but has many times froze on me and i have to pull the battery. Words with friends never completely freezes like wordfeud but always force closes and goes black on me. So for now I'm running smoothe on Eclipse.

Regarding OP's comment about data stability, I have some updated info on that subject.
Yesterday I reverted my Bionic to stock .902, then ran the leaked .904 update. This update includes some new code for LTE as well as an updated kernel (among other things).
After I successfully rooted and Safestrapped, I flashed Axiom ICS AOKP.
At this point I have not had a single LTE data drop; this includes several instances of moving in and out of wifi-covered areas. (This was the Achilles' heel of my .901 Axiom load)
Still too early to definitively say that this is the golden fix, but it's made Axiom my daily-driver ROM again, which is saying something.
For those who want to stay on the upgrade path, .904 may not be worth it. Moto could end up shipping something like .905, leaving those of us who loaded .904 to find our own way back to the upgrade path. (.901 vs .902, anyone?)
However, for those of you willing to take the plunge, preliminary results show that it's worth it, particularly if your Axiom ICS load is struggling with data drops.
