so when i start my droid eris up this is what i am getting. the phone gets no signal. when i start up the phone is asks me if i want to use "htc sense" or "home". i did download "91pandahome" and i guess also "home". i can't go to settings and turn on wifi or mobile 3g. i have no cell signal. any ideas on how to fix the phone?

thanks

well since it's late i ran out of patience and just did a factory reset. lol i think i just lost everything from swype to contacts and everything else. lol

... so tempted to go to 2.1 but reading about all the people who are un-happy with it makes me want to just wait it out.

well my signal is back up 3g and everything else. i will not try to make my phone have the iphone locked screen or iphone look to it ever again. will just use sense. lol

should of seen it though. i had my phone exactly looking like an iphone. same locked screen same main screen same icons. lol was going to show my boss as a joke but i guess i pushed it too far and messed with one too many settings.

Nah, man. When it doesn't let you do anything as it force closes, restarts, and force closes again in a loop, all you can do is factory reset. I had to when I f00ked up with OpenHome.

yeah, i was using home, openhome, and also 91pandahome. shit got fcked up real quick. lol i think 91pandahome is safe to use but not sure.

Those Home programs have been nothing but trouble for me. Did you try updating OpenHome or uninstalling it while still using it? That's a problem because you'd need to switch out of OpenHome to update it, otherwise it will put you in a force close loop. Uninstalling it, actually, was not a problem if you were still on it.

i couldn't uninstall it. i did try but no luck. i got rid of the 91pandahome or whatever and the iphone look a like stuff and the other garbage but "home" or whatever wouldn't uninstall. i was at it for like an hour and said u know what ether factory reset or 2.1 here i come. of course i was a puss and just did a factory reset. oh well now i have to move all my phone numbers from my old ass LG flip phone back on tomorrow. guess i'll have to take a trip to the verizon store unless there is a easier way to do it?

edit: not going to lie the iphone look a like and locked screen looked like an exact dupe. i was going to show my boss just for shits and giggles because i thought it was pretty funny.

I'm a day late and a dollar short but...

If you can get to the Settings app, go through and flush out the cache on applications that are eating a lot of it (notably the browser). Alternately, if you can get to the Market or something else that can remove applications, remove a couple of the larger ones.

I had a similar problem, and I think it's caused by not having enough internal memory. This thing doesn't fail gracefully under those conditions.
