Root [1st Gen] what best Rom for Kindle ?

Just to inject my two cents the stock ROM isn't bad if you like the free cloud storage for all of your music, books, and apps. And it does what I expected the Fire to do.
I suppose CM7/9 gives it that "cool factor" though.

I didn't mind it. The deal breaker for me to switch was Android market and Swype. there was a lot of good things about the stock ROM but not enough to keep it

You do know that you can install the market on rooted stock right?
Yea, Ithought about it, but I was already using the go launcher and by the time you root it you can be running CM7 in 10 minutes. If I used amazon's video or online services I would have thought twice but I use it primarily for web browsing and games. That's why I wanted the swype so bad. Punching out letters one key at a time was killing me.

I noticed on my KF after I rooted and installed vending.apk with gapps and framework, process market kept crashing. Flashed to cm9 and haven't had any issues so far.
I had that problem with cm9 after I didnt wipe cahe when I flashed it. I settled on the CM7 because of netflix playback support but the CM9 is NICE. I'm hoping CM9 gets polished up here soon cause the Acer Iconia is calling my name already and I dont need to be buying toys right now.
