We have all the TU partitions as images but the Odin mappings are unknown for all but 4 of the most important ones. If you want to risk your TU to map them, be my guest. ;)

For any lingering doubters out there about Odin flashing on the Ultra....I bought another Boost Mobile Transform Ultra, flashed CWM recovery using Odin and did a stock backup to the SD card. :D

./adb devices
List of devices attached
M93010B20FE2 recovery

Just to back him up on this....

I made a PDA.tar of system, data, boot, and recovery using my version of the odin .bat script of my own personal ROMs (Shevron + CWM, Stock-rooted-bob's kernel + CWM) and they both flashed with Odin with no issues..

Thanks again Bads3ctor!! Glad to know you're still with us Transformers :D
Honestly, I'd hate to see you go

I would like to comment on something I have seen but do not quite understand why it's this way. I used Odin to flash CWM and Bob's OC kernel and I did not have root. Now I thought by flashing the OC kernel that I would "automagically" get root but it did not happen that way. I only got root access after running the zerg exploit on TU while the OC kernel was running. Someone want to explain this? What am I missing here? Does this have to do with needing a special su binary?

well i think you cant have root access without su app installed and that would deffenently be on the system partition... but i could be wrong:rolleyes:
you are both right.. and the boot.img/initramfs does have an su binary inside it to enable root to the kernel for changing things like the I/O scheduler and governer. along with other root processes at kernel level but I'm not sure if that enables complete root over the entire system though bads3ctor. I believe you need both the kernel binary and the su app.. at least that was my understanding anyways. I'm wrong a lot thought lol

Hey!

So, I'm new here and I have the Samsung Transform Ultra. And had a quick question.

I rooted my phone a while back. At the time, I forgot to enable USB Debugging to have SuperOneClick unroot my phone so I found on the internet that if I went into the /system/bin and fine SU that's one way to delete the Super User Permissions well, I accidently deleted the sh file in /system/bin. So my question is to return it to stock what files would I need? Would I just need Stock system(with tweaks) or both Stock Recovery and System with tweaks? The only reason I'm asking is because I don't have a 3g signal anymore.

Thanks! :)

so you want to go all the way back to stock? might I ask why. having root will not effect 3g at all. in fact there are things you could do in order to change your signal like changing your PRL so that you would be on srint's towers instead of boosts if you have root

my point is. you could just flash it back to (stock w/root)

I can give you a stock, rooted image to flash with odin. that should fix your problem

I still have root and I never flashed anything before so I'm weary as if it'll brick my phone D; And I know root wouldn't affect that 3g but I want my 3g back  I've been a week without it. And I'm down for whatever as long as I get a 3g connection again.
give me a few min Im gonna pm you. and odin will not brick your phone.. it saves your phone from being bricked ;)

Mine is in permanent ram dump mode(all button combinations lead to ram dump mode) and penguinrepair's lost sbl2.
__________________________________________________________________________

Edit: For your viewing pleasure, here is what my last attempt at CM7 looked like:
before_brick - Minus

And what a total brick looks like:
brick - Minus

Edit2: I will be fine....mine will be returned and I will get another one. Penguinrepair might need another used Sprint Ultra so if any one comes across one cheap, please post it here. Thanks

hey my phone sometime shows me that brick screen you posted and i just take my battery out for a few and put it back in and it is fine after that have u tryed to do that yet

Warning for Ultra users

Just sending warning out to the Ultra users, today i restored a kernel via Cwm by selecting "backup and restore" "Advance restore" selected my file that contained the kernel and MD5 checksum then choose boot.img.
when i booted my phone it got stuck at the "SAMSUNG" screen, i cant boot into cwm but i can boot into download mode. Anyway i followed the Odin instructions and boot my phone to download mode and connected my phone but wait this is the best part "my 2 computers dont pick up my phone in download mode" hahahahaha :hmpf:.
The drivers are installed correctly on my computers because PenguinRepair talked my into ram dump mode and my phone is recognize there but not in download mode. So just a warning Ultra users sometimes Odin just can't save you, so be careful when your doing anything especially with kernels.
I will see if samsung will send me another phone but if they dont my days here at the forums are done its back to my incognito. Good luck to everyone it was a great run with the Ultra, i'll let you guys know if samsung gives me a new phone or not.
