Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning all!
Simply out of curiosity (and it may have been stated before in other threads), what do you all do for a living? Interested to see how many of you work for none tech related jobs.

I studied electrical engineering in college, but it's been so long I have trouble replacing light bulbs anymore so I fly airplanes for a living.

I manage a casualty insurance program for a non-profit risk purchasing group that places liability insurance for a group of about 120 resorts, hotels and private clubs across the country. Very non-tech, although somehow, my tech brain is called upon frequently since I'm one of only two technically inclined people in our little 9 person office. :)

Chief, that's very scary, Meth Labs, whoa, glad they left.

Well, okay, I was kidding about the meth labs ;)

But with Tennessee leading the nation in meth labs and meth addiction, I figured I could throw that in realistically.

No, the renters who moved out were both engineers at Arnold AFB (aerospace test center - wind tunnels and other fascinating stuff), and the wife neighbor with the "For Sale" sign is actually a CS Supervisor for...

wait for it....

here it comes...

VERIZON

Ah well, no neighborhood is perfect

Crunchy bacon is an atrocity. Crisp edges with a firm but slightly chewy texture. Bacon is smoked and cured, so the need to cook is the same as beef :)

+1 on that! Thick sliced applewood smoked bacon just crispy on the edges and slightly chewy in the middle is where it's at!

Good morning all!

Electrical Engineer by degree, instrument and controls engineer by profession. Wife is an elementary teacher

What's up with this 38 degree weather tonight???
It's the end of April, for cryin' out loud!

Where's that global warming when I need it...

Sat out in this freezing weather for over 8 hours Saturday watching baseball, spring football, and a concert. Had a great time, but it would have been awesome had it been about 10 degrees warmer with no wind and no clouds.

Hooray for sparkys!

You got me on that one Chief, lol. We keep up with other Landlords around here on what is happening in each others rentals. For the most part people are great and leave the place close to how they found it. However occasionally, you get the horror story tenant who leaves the place full of trash and in need of major renovations. One day, we were having breakfast at a local greasy spoon when another property manager/owner came in clearly distressed. One of his tenants was arrested for cooking Meth and his property had over $60,000 in damage to it from having been a meth lab.:eek::eek:

Is anybody running the new LiquidSmooth 1.3? I tried it, but keep getting launcher crashes and was wondering if anyone else is having this problem? I've flashed back to 1.25 for now, but if there's something I'm doing (or not doing) that is causing the launcher crashes, I really want to give 1.3 a good whirl.

The ballistic missile that hit it, methinks...

EDIT: Pupkact, not only did they leave the copper, but BOTH meth labs too! :p
Squatters + Abandoned property = bad things

Morning everyone! Glad to see the Bruins pull off the win in DC. Yeah, I live in DC and I root for MA teams, so what?
Granted, the Nats are doing quite well and would like to see a home team that wasn't the Caps do well.
I only got a chance to run it on for the final 30 seconds, at least it was the 30 seconds that counted.

I have a previous landlord who is now a good friend of ours (we were one of his "good" tenants :) ). He's a Section 8 landlord and tells me horror stories that would make your skin crawl.

Yeah, that meth is some BAD stuff. House has to be basically condemned because of the chemical fumes in the walls, little kids have to go to the hospital for detox before being placed in foster homes while mommy/daddy go to jail... it's the devil's drug, I tell you. Easy to cook, easy to find. One hit and you're addicted for life. Ruining lives and families by the dozens a day :(

I'm an accountant (Account Receivable Analyst right now) at a Hotel Management Firm. Perk is that I get employee discount on some of the most luxurious hotels in the world, lol. Only issue is flying there :( I got a question for you CaptainRon: Do you know any charming, single pilots in their late 20s/early 30s? lol ;)

Morning everyone! Its still cold and rainy here in North Jersey. Roze, I agree - Mother Nature's sense of humor is sick.
This is kinda how I feel:

Morning everyone - had quite a weekend.

Went out with the girlfriend for hibachi and bubble tea on Friday - a very nice and relaxing night. Saturday was car day so spent all day putting the wheels together and finishing up polishing and stuff to finally get them on. Went to get the tires mounted and one of them was bent so wasn't holding air correctly, but they told me the fixed it. I came home like a little school girl and mounted them on the car and they looked amazing. Then I went to drive it four hours later and the tire was flat. Then it rained all day Sunday so couldn't work on the car at all so now its sitting in my girlfriend's driveway with a flat tire.

Going back today to put two stock wheels on the front and then get estimates on this bent wheel to try and get it fixed so it holds air. I was so frustrated (I know stuff happens) but I think it was just a let down because of how excited I was to get them on the car.

BTW this is what it looks like with the wheels on and tire with air in it. Stoked on how it looks though.

Have you ever notice that chips taste so much better when you're taking it from someone else :/

The red rims looked great on the car!! :D

I like you a lot! Yes, most things taste better when you're taking them from someone else. Same applies for sweatshirts and sweaters too - I have taken many of my Dad's worn in articles of clothing. He then gets a new piece to replace it. Its a win for everyone.

I need some ringtone help.

I'm trying to find, and download the ringtone Soft kitty, where Penny sings this little ditty to Sheldon when he's sick. I tried this through the market using a mp3 converter, and thought I had it.

However, when I open the Nexus connected via USB and use file explorer to "see" my files, I only have "hangout" ringtone showingup in Notifications, and nothing showing up in Ringtones at all. I'm using Windows explorer to view the files on the nexus.

Is it possible the Nexus has "hidden" files ala windows?

Any advice on which website to download a the song, then an editor to shorted it to two seconds, since that's all I want for my notifications?

Thanks in advance.

Looks good Stigy! Sucks about the bent wheel though. I've had that happen to me before. Held air correctly but wore my tires out pre-maturely. Had about 15k on the tires and started showing belt in the inner edge. Tire shop said it was a bent wheel so I just ordered new ones.

Thanks svt & Roze!

Yeah my friend is going to look at it tonight for me - see what he thinks. I know it'll all get fixed, it always does. Sometimes I just get stressed and frustrated over little situations.

BUT I am glad the rears hold air because this is what I was driving on - I know, I know. Bad, bad Stigy.
