I had posted a thread on here a bit ago regarding my Evo3D locking up. Come to find out, the motherboard was bad and HTC had replaced it. I also had a dead pixel and HTC replaced the digitizer, screen and outer black surround. Took me three times and a month and a half of sending it out to have everything fixed.
Now, I've got my phone back and spoke with Sprint to activate it on Wednesday, and I have no data services, but the phone and basic text messaging work. I've spent at least two days now trying to figure out a solution with Sprint and HTC but they're both just pointing fingers at each other, and Sprint wants to send me a refurb - which I do not want since my phone is only about two months old!
What's happening is when it tries to complete the "Hands Free Activation," I keep receiving error codes 68 and 1012 - Data Call Failure. We've tried to reset the data profile, update profile, hard reset and had a Sprint tech try to manually program the phone.
While I was at the repair center yesterday, the tech got 4G to work and the internet and data seemed to work fine. Where I live, I have no chance of getting 4G. I'm in the sticks! I am not even getting 3G at this point, have no internet access without wifi, and cannot send a picture message. The HTC tech support I just spoke with a few minutes ago told me that it's not a problem with the phone since I was able to get 4G and data on 4G, and that it's a Sprint network issue.
Just spoke with Sprint's online chat as well and they're telling me it's an issue with their towers and that is not expected to be fixed until June!!
Figured I'd come here to ask and see if any of you have had this problem and if there is anyway to fix it, or have Sprint fix it.
