Hi All, MT Update Theory

Well, I am a new owner of the Motorola Triumph, and having switched from about a year of the Optimus V...things have their ups and downs for me. So far I am loving the new screen and so on and so forth but there are a few minor things that add up.

Anyways! This is my thought on an update from Virgin/Motorola for the MT. I believe that there WILL be some type of update for this phone sometime this year. After stepping back and thinking, I had the OV for a year. It took forever and a day for them to get a simple 'security' update that included 2.2.2 OS in it. Again, that took a whole year! Obviously, I think offering their services at a much lower cost (about half of a contract phone IMO), we suffer by not getting priority support and really any update support for phones. Sadly, this includes the flagship of Virgin, the Triumph. I do believe though, that there is something in the shadows being worked on. I am certain that they will be coming out with something though probably not ICS. I just hope it fixes the dang GPS timing and the lack of a dictionary in the stock 2.2.2 Android keyboard, super annoying! Anyways, I do think this phone is pretty good, in terms of performance and hardware specs I think it beats the OV pretty well. Reliability....well not so well.

I didn't even know that the OV got an update ... but yea one disadvantage of being on a prepaid carrier like VM is we are last priority to Sprint network, customer service, phones, etc. Will the MT get an update maybe maybe not, or if it does it will be such a minor update it won't matter. I mean nothing is impossible, but the fact is IMO VM doesn't take updates seriously.
