So I heard that a 4g mid range device is coming to boost and I was Googling for any root and saw there was some root methods and maybe one or two Roms anyways I think tha i might get this phone, maybe not when it comes out but a bit later. Anyways sorry for the banter do any of you guys think of ever upgrading to this phone especially our devs and themers I know it'll be a new start but I'd like to know every ones opinions on this phone and the possibility to I guess you can say migrate our community

Depending on what Boost is gonna charge for the phone, I'll probably upgrade to it.

If they are gonna try and rape us on the price, I'll get the Marquee.:D

I had already planned on getting either the Warp or Marquee the first week of May but I've decided to hold out to see what the are gonna charge for the Evo. After talking with one of the DEVS in this section, I've decide against the Warp even though I like the price. They are having kernel issue with it. :-/

Now that's some awesome news about the OCed kernel. I know there are some happy campers in the Warp section now. :D

I'm still gonna wait on the release of the Evo though. I'll kick my self in the butt if I don't wait and it's priced right(lol). It should be out between late May and late June and I'll make my decision then. I'll, no doubt check out the Warp scene now that the kernels been OCed too. That's HUGE man.:congrats:

Why are you going to get it flashed? At you ready to deal with the problems associated with that? Mms not working. Data going in and out. All of a sudden the phone remembering what it used to be and trying to revert? Having to reprogram it for data?

Take my advice. Buy the one boost puts out. It's guaranteed to work and if something happens you got warranty and if you pay for it extended warranty. Everything is going to work.

I can flash it for you remotely. But for the few that I have done I became tech support. Not cool. Problems galore.

a guy by me on craigslist is selling evo for boost now at 250 ...i didnt read up on it but what are the evo specs compared to the prevail faster cpu more internal memory,,FLASHED EVO ON BOOST MOBILE - YouTube

Use Google to compare the specs. That's what I did. Also, the Evo he is selling is one that has been converted over from Sprint. Some of those work well while others are nightmares to own. He may be selling it for 250 but it's a used phone too. Just keep that in mind. I tend to stay away from used electronics my self.:D You don't know what u r getting and the don't have a warranty most of the time.

I found a deal online that's supposed to achieve S-off on HTC phones using a hardware exploit. I ordered it and will most definitely post results. It's called XTC Clip
You can get S-off on the Evo with revolutionary.io. No need to buy anything. Unless you have a 1.18 bootloader... in which case you might be in for a bit of twisting.

Try using your EVO with Google Voice and Groove IP Lite and make free phone calls over wifi. Unless you really need full mobile service on the phone, it's a good way to use it for now.
