Hello, I have A LG Thrill that is 5 months old. 1 week ago I received a phone call and couldn't answer it because the phone locked up. I had to remove the battery to end the call. When I put the battery back in the phone, the phone wouldn't power back up. Took 3 times of reinstalling the battery for the phone to power up. My phone locks up a few times a day and sometimes shuts itself off. Never does the power right back up after reinstalling the battery, sometimes the phone will lock up on the Rethink Possible while turning on. I've also noticed that the battery drains down without being used. Any help at all would mostly be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums, Icehole!

Let me move this to the lg thrill section so you can hopefully get a direct answer from your fellow thrill owners.

You also might want to see if you installed a recent app that might not be playing nice with your phone or if you may want to consider doing a factory reset as a last resort.

Here are your options, but before you read on, make sure you unroot your phone, load stock recovery back onto your phone, and update the phone to an LG build of Android, no custom roms, this is if you did any modifying to your phone. If you haven't modded your phone, you can read on without those extra steps.

1. If you're on AT&T's network, go to an AT&T store that does in-store repair or replacement and get a replacement device. Tell them your issue and they will most likely help you fix it, and if they can't they'll give you a replacement on the spot.

2.If you aren't on AT&T's network, go to AT&T, buy a $25 Go SIM, have them register the IMEI of your device with your new account, then go and take it to the AT&T store that offers repair or replacement services and they should fix it, or replace it.

Bottom line is, in order to get AT&T support, you have to be a customer. Doesn't matter if you're on contract or have a Go SIM, they'll help as long as you're a customer, because they want you using their service. So if you don't have service with AT&T, paying $25 to get a replacement isn't much at all.

Note: Don't go into the same store you buy your Go SIM at for the repair. You have to go to different stores or they'll know what's up.

Being that the phone should most likely still be under warranty, they wont give you any hassle, at least they didn't with me. I purchased my LG Thrill on eBay, turned out it was damaged. I then purchased a Go SIM card, had my IMEI registered to my new account, and since I had AT&T service, I was able to get the support and help with my issue. I just told them "My Aunt passed the phone down to me recently, and she owned it for a few months. The phone was working okay for a bit but then started giving me issues, out of nowhere. She said that she never had any problems with it whatsoever, so I don't know what the issue could be." Plain and simple. Sounds like a lot of work, but it really isn't, plus you're gonna get a brand new looking replacement by the sound of your issue, do it while you can.
