I did a factory reset last night, and now am trying to restore my phone's apps. What's the best way to do this? All the apps are listed in my account on Google Play. So right now i'm just going through all the apps and clicking "download" one by one. It's very time consuming. Is there a better way?

Looks like MyBackup Pro backs up apps, but it doesn't back up user data unless you're rooted. That's the biggie for me... i hate losing all my game progress. I've been holding off on the "rooting" for so long. Looks like I'll finally have to do it.

Rooting isn't going be affect me when AT&T finally releases the ICS update, will it?

I dunno.. lol I was unrooted for about 5 minutes from the time I bought my phone.

I'd root too, if it didn't affect the flash counter. I'm surprised Apple hasn't pulled something like that.

That does suck then. So, there's no way to backup user data unless you're rooted?

AFAIK, rooting won't affect you from upgrading.

I had seen that, but I wasn't sure if it works okay. Also, there is now a way to reset the counter, so I'm not even sure I need to worry about it. Anyone want to chime in?

Here's what I'd like to do:

Root my phone and go to ICS. However, if I ever have a problem, I want to be able to get the phone back to stock, so my warranty is still good. So, do I need the above link or do I just root with any method and use the reset counter?

Since I want to install ICS is there any reason to care about the counter and will the reset counter work after installing ICS if I have to go back to stock?

Do I still get the ICS update from AT&T when it comes out? Or is this like jailbreaking (something I'm VERY familiar with), and you just wait until someone comes up with a new custom ROM that has the Suite.

I know this is a lot of questions, but it's all stuff I'm currently researching, and it's not apparent what's the right thing to do (mostly due to this all being kind of new....these links are only a month or so old). Anyway, my goal is to get to ICS and be able to get to stock if I ever have to with the least risk possible.
