[WIP][ROM][CM7][ZVC] LG-LS855 MARQUEE UPDATED 10/27/12

DISCLAIMER: Flash at YOUR OWN RISK!!! By flashing this you understand that that I am not liable for any or all consequences of using this ROM. If you don't know what you're doing, DON'T TRY IT. Use at your own risk! Please read everything before asking questions that may have already been answered.

This is a WIP. NOT ALL FEATURES ARE WORKING. I am NOT an experienced developer so I may not be able to answer all questions. I am posting what I have so far in hopes of others jumping on and helping. Since I don't have a Marquee I can't really test this. It's at a state where it builds and should boot.

THIS WAS BUILT WITH PROPRIETARY FILES PROVIDED BY lMonsterl which has BOOST. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

My repo is located here
You'll need to download the zip and extract it to /android/system/device/lge/LS855/

HOW TO:
For a how-to on building see knzo's post here
Before building, but after step 3 in knzo's how-to, you'll need to do a couple more things. (You can skip step 4, this is only if you're building P970)

1.First you need to copy the proprietary files from the device. Connect the device to the computer and ensure that ADB is working properly and then run the following.
Code:
cd ~/android/system/device/lge/LS855/
 ./extract-files.sh
2.Next you'll need to run setup-makefiles.sh located @ /android/system/device/lge/LS855/
3. You'll need to add "add_lunch_combo cyanogen_LS855-eng" to the "vendor/cyanogen/vendorsetup.sh" file.
4. Now do step 5 in knzo's post and change "p970" to "LS855"
5. It should now be building.
6. Troubleshoot any errors and repeat, and repeat, and repeat.

Has anyone made any advancements with this rom? I never did a wipe so I still had all my apps, ran a benchmark unplugged and got insane scores. Cm7 completely fixes the USB performance bug. I don't have my own computer otherwise I would be working on this myself. I will donate to whoever can get cm7 fully operational.

I talked to TDM from android central about working on a cm7 branch for the lg marquee a few weeks ago( If you don't know TDM maintains the cm9 and helps with the cm7 branch for the optimus V and it's variants ). Basically he had said that he would work on a branch for the marquee if he had the phone and get it going. At the time there was still a phone going around when I talked to him.
I'm thinking of either getting together with some people and buying him a phone off craigslist ( I keep seeing ads like this one ) or talking to him about how much donations it would take to get him to work on it he's definitely gonna need the phone. Or if someone else has some ideas of someone else who has some experience compiling and building cm7. Either way lets get together either on the forums or by pm.

It seems that since bloodawn introduced ctmod hours after craptorman uploaded this whip cm7, the literally has been like no interest. Cm7 is by far the such better os, ctmod is stock based so it isn't going to be what a stable cm7 can be. No offense bllodawn love ctmod, but it is no cm7

It would be cool if we could recruit bobzhome for development on cm7 :)
I wish I had more knowledge about cm7 rom building as I would help contribute...
I think it's cool that more and more ppl are contributing to the development of making the marquee better, and eventually it will be killer.

Somehow we gotta sway bloodawn to build on cm7, with his ctmodwork, he has proven to be a smart dude when it comes to android. I would like to see a cm7 built off of his ctmod if that's even possible, this phone has so much potential I would hate to see people give up on cyanogenmod. I read the black forums all the time, the black developers make that phone inti a beast. I have knowledge of android, just no computer otherwise I would be building upon cm7 not stock, even modified stock has too many limitations, I'm nit a big fan of not having choice. When I had my ov cm7 completely open up that phone to greatness.

Doesn't their cm7 still have minor issues?

I've been running BobZHome CM7.2 with his oc kernel for a while now on Optimus V and M (b4 I switched to boost from metro) and can't think of one issue that i had with either... pretty stable :)
I use the h3ll out of my phones and usually find quirks pretty quick. :)
That's why I had to go back to MB v2 w/1.2Ghz from CTMod rom.

I too switched from the Optimus V and fell in love with CM7. Cyanogenmod is the greatest OS an Android can have. It's the reason Android will always be well above the competition. We need it for our Marquee badly. And CM7 on my V runs as if it came that way from the factory. No bugs at all, just greatness.
Someone else had mentioned Bloodawn working on getting a working CM7 for the Marquee. I like the idea!
Bloodawn if you're listening: HELP!!!!!!!!

CM has never interested me that much, I'd rather port MIUI or ICS, or both of them at once and do MIUI v4. I probably won't start anything else till I get some shit fixed in CT tho.

I guess this phone will never see cm7 bloodawn you are really the only active from developer right now, its a shame I'm sure alot of people in here would donate nicely to you if you were to real ease a nice cm7 with that nice ctmod themeing.

I don't mean to seem insulting, but in the beggining of the boost marquee performance ragfest all we talked about was getting a stable cm7 now its here in wip form and its getting left out to dry in favor of modified stock roms. The work everyone did with the stock roms is amazing but its still no cm7. I really like the phones potential, but is only going to be potential until we all get thus cm7 from fully operational. The benchmark scores blow away markybeats, and ctmod. In no way am I denying great work, but there is gold over the horizon and everyone is looking the other way.
