Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Congrats Dread: the first time I moved a thread I thought I screwed something up! :D

Hey folks, there's an app out there that lets you use your phone as a scanner! You take a pic of the document, frame and name it, and it converts the pic into a PDF for upload / e-mail!

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.intsig.camscanner&hl=en

THAT might be a handy little booger to have around!

The free version is a fully-functional trial and is limited to 50 documents, up to 10 pages per document. The full, unlimited version is $4.99 and well worth it if it does what it says it does.

Just passing along a good thing here... let me know if you use it and how well it works :)

Thanks.
It's funny, I was at a bar a couple months ago for lunch and my wife called from work and needed a copy of my food handlers license faxed to her. Well, since I knew the manager, I asked to use his fax. He was cool with it so we set it up, but it had too many problems and didn't work. He said, hey, I have this app on my iPhone that will scan it, turn it into a .pdf and I can email it to you. Well, it worked out really smooth.
I then checked out the Market (hey, it wasn't called Play Store then) and found several. Haven't tried any out yet, but if it works as good as the Apple one, I'd be quite impressed.

Well, I just took a picture of a packing slip using CamScanner, it automatically framed the document (and cropped out my dining room table) and converted it to PDF. Then I sent it to myself by e-mail.

And I must say: I'm impressed.

The image quality is stellar, it's fast and easy. Highly recommended for people on the go (or anyone who may need to scan a document on the fly).

Gave it shot (okay, no pun intended) with my Smartrip card. Pretty slick.

Not completely cropped, but I'll cut it a little slack since the card has rounded edges. Thanks for the tip! :)

We saw the movie Jiro Dreams of Sushi afterwards. A really well made documentary of the undisputed best sushi chef in the world. Still going strong at 85 and has no intentions of retiring anytime soon. That's some dedication there!
I was reading reviews for this on Rotten Tomato which gave it a 98.9% rating! Did you watch it in theatre? Did you drool over the sushi?

I love camscanner!!

+1 Me too :D I take pictures of my receipts to keep as an electronic copy. Very handy indeed!!!

Good Morning everyone. Am I weird to like the words 'good morning' I said it over two dozen times and I can say it more. My colleagues said that saying it once was enough on my third 'good morning' to her, lol. Good Morning just sounds so up lifting and happy.

I love spring!!! It's my favourite season of the year. Today I simply felt dressing as a Parisian with a purple beret and beige A-line trench coat over my skirt outfit ^_^ I wish I could wear my beret inside the office without feeling weird, lol.

Yep, one of our local theaters (Landmark) plays only the low key/indie films. My wife was literally drooling by the end. Only problem with the movie is, after watching it, you realize that all the sushi you've eaten in your life has been crap! :(

I have a Citizen Ecodrive that's about 7 years old. I've never had to give it a thought. It is solar though (through the face), I'm not sure about the one you have to shake.

The "automatic" watches have a weighted gear in the back that with movement, drives the hands. If the watch isn't in constant movement (basically everyday wear), it'll die.

Truth. My Fossil dies in about 2 days of not wearing it. Speaking of which, I sadly have to send it back and get something different. The black finish is wearing off within 2 months of purchase and I was told it was not a watch you should wear every day, but they were happy to allow me to swap with a different one. Going with plain stainless steel instead of a colored finish.

Returning this for this

I knew how they worked, just wasn't sure about how well they stayed wound. It would probably work for me as the only time I take my watch off is when I am asleep.

Aww, that's so sad :(
The black is so sexy.

The silver is more elegant, lol.

*Roze waves goodbye to sexy watch*

I know :( Sad. I loved the black one but if the finish is going to wear off I can't live with it.

*nods* and you can't trust the other black watches either :( That's kind of disappointing for Fossil since they are known for their lovely watches (I like their wallets thought, lol). I have a Fossil wallet that can fit my phone inside :) My very own Google Wallet!!! :p
