Milestone being released in Bulgaria with 2.1 on March 20th - Droid OTA soon after?

If they get 2.1 update before we get it I am going to be furious. We have been (im)patiently waiting for too long. I understand that they are probably caving to demands about live wallpapers and the 3D app drawer, but come on! First some moto-dumbass prematurely posts something saying the update is coming this week.. getting ALL of our hopes up, and NOW it is said the Milestone will likely get 2.1 before the Droid. WTF!?! I have finally reached the end of my fuse, if I didn't love my Droid (and pay almost $100/month for service) so much I would go to the Verizon store and throw it through the store-front window.

:mad::thinking::mad::thinking::mad::thinking::mad:

Once the 2.1 update comes down I will likely be a happy camper, but I have been camping WAY TOO LONG in the dark forest of uncertainty. Is there some kind of 2.1 update dance we can do to speed the process up? I wish.

I dont think this means anything for the droid at all. It appears its verizon holding up the process not motorola. Hence the fact that ESE53 a build that motorola deemed ready for public use hasnt been pushed OTA.

I agree with Humpa though why not root?

Well actually you dont even have to root you could just use the ESE53 sbf file and get 2.1 on your droid.

Yeah, I stopped waiting about a month ago. I don't think I'll ever go back. When the "official" 2.1 ROM gets pushed to the non-rooted phones, I'll be at All Droid waiting for my custom ROM based on the official 2.1 update.

I think they are pushing it to the Milestone phones first because let's face it they are pretty much on lock down. So, they are in more need of a ROM update than the Droid.

I certainly hope it comes soon, especially for those who have chosen not to root (for whatever reason).
I'm rooted and am enjoying the pleasures of the ESE53 build. LWPs were cool for about an hour. Then honestly, they got old. The 3D launcher was pretty cool, but again, with so many FCs and landscape bugs (even with some of the devs working out the kinks) it still isn't ready for prime time.
But the overall speed and smoothness of the ESE53 build certainly was an improvement....even at stock speeds.
Hopefully the BT issues, GMail attachments, among others, get worked out/added into the official release.
**Prays that he won't be exiled for saying soo, but**
The Droid has a bit of ways yet to be called an iPhone killer. But the 4-5 months its been among us, I must admit, it's a pretty nice piece of technology.

There is an interesting rumor in the "Root" sub forum regarding this. There is now speculation that they are holding the update until Froyo is released (for those who don't know, Froyo is the update AFTER 2.1...No one really knows if it will be 2.2 or 3.0 or whatever). Just so it's not asked (due to the naming scheme), Froyo is "Frozen Yogurt"...

Flash isn't gonna be included in the 2.1 update. It might come with 2.2 or 3.0 or whatever the next build is. And anyway if you wanna be pissed about it be pissed at Adobe. Oh and don't be jealous of the Eris' flash because it sucks hardcore and you can't do anything with it.

The only reason I haven't rooted is because I'm waiting for the Flash, now your telling me that's not coming? For sure or your guess? If I root do the custom ROMs have Flash?
