Root Adjusting MHz ? Speed ?

They are all the same in terms of changing the speed but for some they may have an option to set a profile that lowers your speed during a specific moment(ex. Screen off, 50% battery left, etc) ROM Toolbox and SetCPU do that but I go more for SetCPU but that's just me. SetCPU coat money but ROM toolbox is for free(has a pro version). The free app has a lot of features for a free app. It's usually up to the user though.

Performance sets the speed to maximum,
essentially disabling frequency scaling.
Powersave drops CPU to its lowest supported
frequency.
Userspace allows the CPU speed to be set
manually or dynamically by software.
Ondemand runs at the lowest possible
frequency and increases to maximum when
CPU usage hits 100%.
Conservative runs at the lowest possible
frequency and increases incrementally as more
power becomes necessary.

I downloaded the AnTuTu CPU Master.

It shows MAX - 1024 MHz & Minimum - 368.64 MHz

Scaling is set to - ondemand, but gives me several options (conservative, userspace, powersave & performance)

Any idea what I should set the MHz to and the scaling to ?

Every app you download has a user manual or F.A.Q. Before you do anything you should always read those.

Also if it shows MAX 1024 then the only REAL purpose of using the app would be underclocking or using profiles for screen off, temp and charging because you dont have a kernel that can be Oc'd.

For setcpu it can be found in the xda forums (DON'T TAZE ME BRO!)
the creator has it hosted in a thread there for free
It's my choice for over and under clocking
Also, this isn't that big of a deal right now since you don't have an oc kernel, but for over clocking do not set on boot until your sure your phone can handle the new speed

On setcpu I've found the set on boot option doesnt matter if click on a setting that reboots your phone. Everytime I've done it, the set on boot was clicked, and when the phone booted up it was on the last setting before the on that rebooted the phone.

BUT Antutu is NOT the same. It doesnt have that nice feature, so if you click set on boot you will have to be quick and open that app up and change it quickly. lol

Should I get a OC Kernel or is it not needed ?

Im still new to the Lg Esteem root system. My old andorid phones were on 1 click roots, and I had everything already set up from a previous user.

I'm going to continue reading up on OC Kernels, so I don't bother you guys with tons of questions lol

Lol that's the great thing about this forum, everybody is here to help everybody. Most roms come with an OC kernel, broken out esteem by mtmichaelson, black plague by playfulgod, and I think #2 by ldrifta
If you want just the kernel, there's links to those threads on the all things root guide, just make sure you flash 1 for zvd and not b or c

It's a great forum. Glad to have members like you and everyone else for helping.

I was thinking of going with [ROM] LD-LG Stock/Debloated ZVD-C-B ..According to that thread the ZVD has a Speed Kernel (is that what I want??) & it has speed tweaks and battery tweaks which is what im leaning towards since I still have MINOR lag.

Just try out different ones until you find one that does what you want it to do. Always make a backup before doing anything to your phone though.
