Im at JFv1.51 and its bugging me about updateing to android 1.5 plz help : (

Hello good people of Androidforums

Im a prowd owner of a the USA version of Android TmobileHTC G1 i rooted my phone last nite went from 1.5 offical to 1.0 RC29 than rooted my phone and updated to JFv1.31 and it wasnt asking me to update at all than i installed the Radio Update and the JFv1.51 and its asking me to do Android system 1.5 updates and it keeps buggine me anyone kno how to force stop this or turn it off thru the terminal or telnet or anyway i would be so greatful cause im reading that Tmobile can force it to update on your phone against ur will.....i dnt want that after i did all that work to get it rooted/jailbroken or w.e u wanna call it so ya thx and if u need more info ill provide it just ask and sry if im in the wrong section of the forum asking this question ill move if i have to thx all : )

This is a known bug in his US build go here JesusFreke\’s AndBlog .... he explains it and how to fix it

most of us have moved on to other builds from other devs but im pretty sure if you use his ADP1 build you wont get the error/request, (this one: http://www.getyourdroidon.com/root/JFv1.51_CRB43-ADP.zip )

Ok few questions before i do that

1. Whats the diffrence between the version i have and the adp1
2. Is it going to change nething or wipe my phone
3. I always see people say wipe your phone than reinstall do they mean when u press and hold Home and Power button when u start the phone that wipe or a complete wipe and does it wipe your phone or just wipe and reinstall JF
4. Whats the nanobackup for and should i make one
5. and do i just have to install it like any other update thru the home+power button than Alt+L than Alt+S or do i gatta do some other stuff

1) that build is based on the Android Developer phone instead of tmo - G1

2) you dont need to wipe just reflash it...

3) NO you do not need to wipe... when they say wipe they mean ALT+W or factory reset...

4) the nandroid is to create cloned images of your phone for an exact restore if you mess it up beyond fixing... and you should always back up your stuff computer phone or otherwise....

actually you dont even need to do the ALT+L that is just to display text in the recovery... and no you probably wont notice any difference in how the build looks or runs...

reboot holding home+end call buttons then when in recovery flash your build by hitting ALT+S when its complete hit home+back buttons to reboot...

o ok reflash just means installing the update.zip file you have in your sdcard oo ok i just call it update haha but yea man thx for all the info and all the tips much appreciated cant wait for the crc1 i was ganna wait for it but that update crap is annoying and im scared of hitting it by accident and ur a good mod man thx for the continuious help u get a 10/10 in my book : ) thx alot man till next time
