How soon will accessories likely be available?

For those of you looking to buy the HTC Media Link HD ... I just ordered mine and my total price was $76.19.
That thing is so cool but just SO expensive! I will miss the ability to just connect the Micro HDMI -> Full HDMI cable from my Evo to my TV. Especially since my main use for it has been at school rather than at home.

I thought the LTEvo had only a micro HDMI port, but that the port is supposed to be HDMI capable? Is this true? If so, does anyone know where to get such a cable? TIA!

It doubles as an MHL/HDMI port...so you can still plug it to a T.v. if you want to! I just prefer wireless!

Yes it support MHL

I asked that question awhile back in this thread:

http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-4g...-mhl-port-video-inside-explain-newcomers.html

You can buy a Micro USB to HDMI MHL adapter here:

Amazon.com: Menotek Micro USB to HDMI MHL Adapter IMPROVED WITH RCP (Remote Control Protocol) for Samsung Galaxy S2, HTC Evo 3D, HTC Evo 4G Tablet, HTC Sensation 4G, Sprint Epic 4G Touch, Galaxy Nexus: Electronics

Sadly, I couldn't find any adapter that has a micro HDMI connector so I think you'll be unable to use your micro HDMI -> full HDMI cable (which sucks since I also own such a cable).

For those of you looking to buy the HTC Media Link HD, Amazon has one for $96. Use the following promotional code to save 30%: MOTHER30. Also, standard shipping is set at $9, but if you switch to expedited shipping, the price actually drops to $8.99!

I just ordered mine and my total price was $76.19. The delivery estimate is between the 15th and 18th...just in time!!!

Here's the link: Amazon.com: HTC 99H1089400 Media Link HD One X / One S: Electronics

do you know if the Media Link HD will work with other non-HTD devices? just wondering if its possible to install an app on my tablet so that i could also use my Transformer Prime with this.

not yet. it only supports the "one series" handsets, so no other handsets or tabs at this point.

the Media link can be seen to any other non compatible device as a simple DLNA box but you wont get all of the full features that compatible devices will get.

if you look at the screen shot i posted up above, the 3D sees the Ad hoc network the box broadcasts. its full 1080P and supports a/b/g/n 802.11 2 and 5 GHZ.

Thank you thank you thank you!

Very cool. I can use any HDMI cable. The only drawback is that it MUST be charging in order to use the adapter. So technically I will need two separate cables to make this work (not a big deal though since I normally try to charge my Evo while using the HDMI out).

Well, after I get my LTEvo I'm still keeping my original Evo as a VOIP home phone with its own number. So I may still have use for the Micro->Full HDMI cable for something... not sure what though. Actually, I take that back, I can't use the cable anymore since I changed over to MikiG ROM. The kernel doesn't support full HDMI mirroring and I am unwilling to change to a different kernel for fear of losing my 48hr battery life!

I'm the same way I just need something until Steinheil or Clarivue come available. We were looking at XO Skins and Skinomi but he doesn't want anything where you have to spray some wet application and I don't think I like that neither. The Sprint store has them but there's don't cover the whole phone I had one last year. And I am ordering a seidio case there site says estimated ship date 5/18 but I don't remember what there protector was like but I got one from them once. But then I've been using Clarivue now all the time.

I just called HTC and they told me that the One-X protector should work on the EVO 4GLTE that the front is the same on the One-X as the new EVO. Is that true?

Can anyone point to any screen protector source that is ready to sell, pre-launch? I remember I was able to order some for my Evo 3D so that it would arrive before I even got my phone. I just need something to put on there to get me through until SGP/Steiniheil or whoever produces something.

You can try those generic/universal ones where you have to cut the proector to fit the screen. That should be fine until SGP releases their screen protector.

I can't say if the protector will work, but I do know for a fact that the glass on the One X and the EVO are most definitely different. The EVO's glass is completely flat, whereas the One X's glass has a gentle curve and wraps around the sides. I would guess that they don't work.

I agree with NeoteriX, the glass definitely looks like the dimensions are different. That said, it's possible that it could work as a "temporary" solution until the official one comes out. For me, I'd just rather hold off until they released the official one. The SGP screenprotectors, while not "expensive," are still more than the ebay ones...So, if I were going to try a temporary screen protector, I'd go with the cheap ebay ones first.

HERE is one that I ordered from XOSkins.

I used coupon code TAXDAY25 for a discount. I believe the total was around $19.xx shipped.

Edit: Just saw that you don't want one that uses water. Maybe this will help someone else.

That means the holster I carry it in should fit nicely as well. Waiting on the screen protector, alreayd have a SD card. then I'm good to go. . . once I get the EVO 4g LTE! Woo Hoo!
