Help Samsung Dart Data not working

I got a Samsung Dart for my birthday today and the data has not worked since I bought it. I am on T-Mobile's network with a very weak signal but mostly I'm on AT&T's network with full signal. I should at least have EDGE right? Also I have turned on Data Roaming but it didn't fix the problem. Advice?

Hmmmm.... it sounds like it might just be the phone. You might want to have it checked out and maybe switched for another. If the new one also does not work, maybe it could be the network where you live? Not sure but even on EDGE you should get data.

Welcome to the site! :)

If your phone is on T-Mobile prepaid/no-contract, it has been said that data will not work if the phone is roaming on another network.

Since AT&T does not use the 1700/2100 AWS band, if your phone is using 3G, then it should work on T-Mobile, even with one bar of signal. If you're roaming on AT&T, then you're using EDGE. If you're on postpaid T-Mobile, I'm not sure if data roaming is available via AT&T.

Welcome to the forums, Theycallmeuser! :)

Epp is correct: The signal bars are for voice radio strength and have nothing to do with data reception. If you're in a spotty voice area, chances are good that you are outside T-Mo's data network.

You will want to check T-Mobile and look at their DATA coverage map. If the map indicates good data in your area, then have your phone checked... if not, then I'm not sure what to tell you about that one - but you'll have your answer
