Options/opinions on where to purchase the EVO 4G LTE

that's not accurate. Maybe they don't have the specific kinds of deals some people want but they do have deals. 20% off when purchasing at least 2 accessories is a deal. That means I can buy a Jawbone Era and an HTC Media Link for $167.19 instead of $208.99 saving me $41.80.

I thought the accessory discount went away with the gold and silver premiere?

Ok, Pre-Ordered at BB today. I went in there with a fist full of dollars and a hard copy of the deal at Sams Club for $149.74. I was wearing full blown swat gear and sparing gloves ready for a fight. :D

I talked with the sales dood I always deal with, and it turns out, they have no idea what kind of shenanigans they'll be able to pull on launch. He was sure he'd be able to price match Sams Club, but I wouldn't get the BB gift card.

Hmmm, no matter 6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other. Now what he couldn't answer was if the gift card could be applied to the transaction to get the phone for $150. Also he wasn't sure if the Hero qualified for a $50 phone trade in. All we can do is try it on Friday and see what I come up with. ;)

Also they wouldn't take the fist full of dollars. Told me to pay when I get the phone, which they guaranteed me I would get one. The sales dood told me his store didn't get as many pre-orders as anticipated, and he's got plenty in stock to cover. :D

Bummer about not getting the gift card when price matching. I can understand it though... But would still push the issue when you go.. tell them, well I pre ordered it. Heh.. unless he saw something in the launch guide. I still wish I had a print out if it. Very very lengthy and detailed.

As I mentioned earlier, when I got the EVO, Best Buy was giving away a free blue tooth headset.. worth about $25 or so.. Radio Shack was offering something like $20 or $25 (maybe $50) credit towards accessories.. BB matched that. I walked out with 3 EVOS, 3 blue tooth headsets (still haven't opened them lol), 3 cases, and 3 installed InvisiSheilds for just the price of the phones...

So, who knows. I will definitely be posting my results. Good luck to all :)

I printed an ad from Sams club and took it in. The sales Dood told me he could price match that offer, but I'd loose the gift card.

We'll see what kind of shenanigans I can pull off on Friday! :D

I can't find the damn ad from Sams or find any type of ad from Sprint.

Have link?

Does it show off contract price?

If the gift card can't be applied towards purchase, then this would ne the way to go. If you can still get the pre order gift card after the price match, even better.

I had pretty much narrowed my options down to Sprint(whom I purchased all my previous phones from since becoming a Sprint customer) and Best Buy. After looking them both over pretty good I think it's a no brainier to stick with Sprint based on the math.

Considering that the one accessory I want/need the most to pair with(literally & figuratively) my LTEvo is a new Bluetooth headset I did the following math:

Best Buy
LTEvo: +199.00
Jawbone Era: +129.00
Activ. Fee: +36.00
Sales Tax: +54.25
Total: 418.25

50$ gift card -50.00
OGEVO turn in: -50.00

Grand Total: 318.25

Sprint
LTEvo: +199.00
Jawbone Era: +103.20 (20% off)
Activ. Fee: +36.00
Sales Tax: +42.62
Total: 380.82

OGEVO turn in: -70.00

Grand Total: 310.82 (Drops to 274.82 if I can get the Act fee dropped)

Of course my math/reasoning won't work for everyone because not everyone wants the same accessories.

Feel free to point out any flaws in my math. ;)

I'm going with BB. I used them for the first time with the evo 2 years ago.
With all their discounts/promotions I'll be paying roughly $50 for it and cant beat that. $50 evo trade, $50 off bonus, $50 off Phone Freedom promotion. Some chase rewards BB gift cards i have about $40 worth, its actually now dang near free.
Here is hoping they have some nice throw in like 2 years ago with the EVO, bluetooth and case.

At Best Buy, you get the $50 gift card for pre order. There is no down payments required or accepted.

When you trade in your OG EVO, you get $50 off new Sprint phone, and another $50 gift card. See the BB email I posted on page 2.

Take it you didn't sign up for BB Phone Freedom, which you can no longer do?

FYI My line wasn't due to upgrade until JUN 30 2013 - I just called and paid $115 to early upgrade. (Doing this vice buying off-contract at $550 to $700 and hoping for gift cards/credits. This is much easier and cheaper! Glad people had mentioned it on other threads - shew!) - And CONFIRMED - I am NOW eligible for upgrade!! WOOT WOOT!

Also, Sprint is waiving my activation fees. I will need to call after they appear on me bill to get them to reverse it.

So, for me it's...

$115 Early Upgrade Buy-Up (For 1 line, other 3 are upgrade eligble)
$200 EVO LTE #1
$200 EVO LTE #2
$200 EVO LTE #3
$200 EVO LTE #4
--------
$915.00
- 50.00 BB Pre-Order Gift Card #1 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Pre-Order Gift Card #2 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Pre-Order Gift Card #3 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Pre-Order Gift Card #4 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
--------
$715.00
- 50.00 BB Discount For Trade-in #1 (Discount applied to purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Discount For Trade-in #2 (Discount applied to purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Discount For Trade-in #3 (Discount applied to purchase of phone)
- 50.00 BB Discount For Trade-in #4 (Discount applied to purchase of phone)
--------
$515.00
- 50.00 BB Gift-Card for Trade-in #1
- 50.00 BB Gift-Card for Trade-in #2
- 50.00 BB Gift-Card for Trade-in #3
- 50.00 BB Gift-Card for Trade-in #4
--------
$315.00
- 50.00 Best Buy Phone Freedom #1 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 Best Buy Phone Freedom #2 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 Best Buy Phone Freedom #3 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
- 50.00 Best Buy Phone Freedom #4 (Can be used towards purchase of phone)
--------
$115.00
- 0.00 Acitvation Fees x4 (will show on bill, but will call to have them reversed)
--------
$115.00 Bottom Line for me

I'll take that deal.

If I can't use ALL gift cards towards purchase, I will buy and activate one phone at a time and use it's gift card towards the next. My math is, for worse case, pay $50 for first phone, then apply gift cards towards next, then, what's left over - which should be $50 in gift cards, OTTER Cases.

Now - if I can get all the gift cards and get them to price match Sams :D haha worth the effort when I go in I suppose.

==========================================

Bottom line, and not eligble to all:

GIVEN a $50.00 Phone Freedom Gift Card The Can Be Used Towards Purchase.
GIVEN a $50.00 Pre-Order Gift Card Can Be Used Towards Purchase.
GIVEN a $50.00 discount if trading in EVO 4G for a Sprint Phone.
GIVEN a $50.00 gift-card for trading in EVO 4G.

At a minimum, $150 in discounts are possible to be applied towards purchase of EVO 4G, leaving possibly a $50 gift card. (If not all being possible to apply towards purchase)

I was told there's no more loyalty credits and the promotion going on this month is waiving the activation fee. They said wait till it hits your bill then call back and that this is a promotion for everyone.

Now I want to know I did do the Phone Freedom and I am supposed to get a 50 dollar card when I pick up the phone to use towards the phone making it 149.00 not 199.99. Now I did put 50 down and have a 50 card right now so I just will owe a 100 more. But I am guessing they won't price match Sam's for 149 and then still give me the 50 dollar phone freedom card and let me use it towards the phone making it even cheaper? I doubt they will but I am good paying 149 and if I save 36 also I am happy.

True. Either way, to get the gift cards, I will need to resign for another 2 years. So, if they get a kick back based on the contract, they score. Can't imagine they would lose money that way.. the bigger question will be, can I get those chuckleheads to do what I want. Lol

Waiting to hear back from Sprint in regards to me asking them to waive activation fees, and/or hit me up with a loyalty credit of some sort. May have to call if "Clarissa" tells me no.
