Everyone remembers how excited they had been the first time they powered up their Triumph. Everyone also probably remembers a few days later when thoughts of buyer’s remorse started running through their heads. Thankfully soon after Dev’s like Tickerguy, isaacj87, mantera, ziggy46, Austrie, Whyzor, Mobstergunz, b_randon14, Jaay Dogg & g60madman went to work and completely turned the entire experience around . The idea behind Triumph Re-Stock is that the entire experience can now be relived but this time without the let down.

THANKS

Tickerguy, isaacj87, mantera, ziggy46, Austrie, Whyzor, Mobstergunz, b_randon14, Jaay Dogg & g60madman for doing what a company with the resources of Motorola could not and giving us what we could have had from the beginning. Big thanks to b_randon14 for providing the copy of the stock Rom I took all the Stock Rom images from & g60madman for the base, building guide, and the patience.

Tweaks & Features

Faster GPS Fix (GPS.conf)

Youtube HD Playback over Wi-fi

Improved Scrolling

Modified Buffer Sizes for streaming performance

Fewer process running in background

Improved image display quality

Can change PRL by default (Will still need to follow the method of changing the PRL as done when using the Stock Rom. If you have any questions about changing your PRL please refer to the below link. I am by no means an expert on the subject.)

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/395533-big-difference-data-speeds.html

Issues (Slandered expected CM7 issues)

HDMI does not work (Maybe one day but until that day I say its worth the trade.)

BT or Wi-Fi enabled will prevent deep sleep mode. (Toggle, Toggle, Toggle)

Some videos in portrait mode flickers.

Custom App starter Lockscreen option for Rings and Sliding Tab is unfortunately still glitchy. Will probably be this way until I can get the Sliding Tab incoming call Lockscreen as the default and can then remove the option as doing so now would also require removing the option for setting the incoming call Lockscreen Style. Have honestly figured out every other Lockscreen Style but Sliding Tab is treated very differently then the other Styles and little pieces seem to be all over the place. Also not a single resource on how to do it, apparently no one else has ever decided on forcing users to use the Sliding Tab style Lockscreen, go figure.

Instructions

1, Download and place zip on SD-Card.

2, Boot into Recovery.

3, select "wipe data/factory reset"

4, Under Mounts and storage select "format /system".

5, Under advanced select "wipe Dalvik cache"

6, select "install zip from sdcard"

7, select "choose zip from sdcard"

8, select "Triumph_Re-Stock.zip" from the available list of files.

9, select "yes install Triumph_Re-Stock.zip"

10, select "reboot system now" and you should be good to go.

11, Will need to manually change the Incoming Call Lockscreen Style to SlidingTab. (Advanced settings / Lockscreen / Style Options)

Re-Imagined: Will need to manually change the Statusbar Toggle Indicator Color to red in order to complete the Theme. (Advanced settings / Interface / Notification power widget)

If updating from a previous version skip step 3 but wipe cache in its place.

Look interesting! May I ask, how can I change the prl? Is it much more easier than the other method which require the code or like fast connect to pc? Which prl work best for the MT and after I change it, will it still work if I flash to other rom? Thank you again.

To change the PRL you would still need to follow the instructions outlined in this post,

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/395533-big-difference-data-speeds.html

Sorry, what I had meant by default is that changing the PRL in any other Rom besides stock requires that you first open a Terminal and enter a few command lines or restore a Stock Rom Backup. So basically I was saying that with this Rom these extra steps are not required. The extra steps are not difficult in any way,

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/526028-quick-prl-swap-cm7-updated-4-5-a.html

That one was more intended to be part of the Stock Rom theme.

What PRL works best I think depends on the area you live. I have tried a few that many members posted as being the best that made things worse and vise versa.

Big thanks should go to thangfish for the discovery. All I did was add the line to an Init.d script. Surprisingly enough after doing so I plugged my phone in and the diagnostic port was open.

One thing I have yet to figure out is where people find lists of PRLs and any hint about which ones work best in what areas.

What I had done was read over the posts in the instructions thread. There are a few links to PRL's posted by other users. Chances are that if you follow a few of the posted links from the thread they will also lead to other PRL's and reviews. Otherwise the results vary from area to area and person to person. What I did was swap the PRL in the morning and then either just try browsing or running speed tests through the day from different locations until finding the one that works best. Otherwise every individual will get different results. For example PRL's starting with a 1 are usually for business accounts and are awesome around Center City and would be given good reviews by someone who does not leave Center City all that often. On the other hand someone else living in the same area who often leaves or spends more time around the residential outskirts may give the same PRL a negative review.

from the screenshots we all see froyo, when you flash it you feel all the horse power under the hood from gingerbread. :D

Thanks, that’s exactly what I was going for. Now if I could only find ware the CM defaults are set I would be one happy camper. Just finished installing Ubuntu on my first SSD and am about to start digging, so excited. :)

Next I'm going to make CM9 into the G1. Lol

Just thought I would mention that I have been getting excellent battery life with this Rom. I have been getting these results without using JD or any battery saving App. Basically added a toggle for Mobile data to the Status Bar (Settings/Advanced settings/Interface/Notification power widget/Widget buttons).

Managed to incorporate a Beats Audio port into the Rom, Things are sounding pretty crisp, at least with DSP removed. As long as my phone does not blow up from now until finishing work I plan on posting an update with the Mod included. I know some people think its all Placebo effect but in all honesty thats fine with me if true long as nothing is adversely effected. In my oppinoin using the $300 headset I inherited from an x-roommate things seem to sound better with the MOD. I guess that would be obvious though considering I have included the MOD in the Rom.

Edit: update is up, phone is still in one piece.

Also, just noticed another Rom of the same name so have changed the name of this Rom to Re- Imagined unless I think of something else. Will change the zip name in the A.M.

Just to avoid a repeat the other Rom I have started working on will be called Starship Triumph and promises to go where no Triumph Rom has gone before. Is a supper slimed down version of Isaac’s Miui set up to use a modified version of the Zeam Launcher and has a more traditional Android Look. LOL

Am I the only one thinking Starship Triumph should incorporate Jefferson Starship as a ringtone? WE BUILT THIS CITY ON ROCK AND ROLLLLLLLL!

Anyway......

So a few questions aboot this ROM. I like how it looks, its very plain and basic which is how I like it. Since it looks Stock, am I to assume gapps is included? Also, how's battery life compared to just plain ol' stock? And. Muffins. I forgot what else...OH. UOT kitchen compatible?

Edit: Ignore the GApps part. Haven't had my coffee yet. *download*

Thats funny, had Jefferson Starship in mind when thinking of a name. You are correct in not needing to flash Gapps. One thing you may want to do and I just kind of asumed most users would is remove the stock bloat-ware. I honestly had only included those apps as part of the Stock theme because I thought users like myself who abandoned Stock long ago would get a laugh over how it looks just like the first time they had powered up their Triumph. I personally remove them first thing after flashing. Otherwise once you get past the humor aspect of trying to make the Rom look as much like stock as possible I have found the Rom itself has excellent performance.

Sweet deal, at least I'm not the only old school person! XD I'll have to give this ROM a whirl now. I downloaded it earlier, but never flashed it due to getting distracted by Disgaea...>_>;;

Oh, so, UOT Kitchen? And what would you recommend to remove apps? I've tried Titanium Backup. Sometimes it works, othertimes...it doesn't.

which file did u use for the beats audio on the xda forums? 0314? or 5.1? if 5.1 how?

Was 314,

The first time I just flashed it to test. I then checked the files and most had been missing. After the second time I ended up extracting the zip and moving them all over individually into the Rom. Like a few seconds after starting the boot I thought to do a log-cat and at just the spot it opened I could see it was running the files.

Should be good with UOT Kitchen. Have not tested but I know it does with CM7. I just use a file explorer for removing the apps. Could also open the zip with 7zip delete the files and flash the Rom again. Can also remove the boot sound and animation inside the system/media folder. There is a less intrusive backup boot animation stored els-ware. Have contemplated adding an un-intrusify zip but end up spending the time doing something else. Had ment to do this earlier but ended up going over and changing some text. So on the next update in places that had used generic terms like "Rebooting Phone" will now say Rebooting Triumph". I am very easily distracted and apparently amused.
