Help No Internet Connection thru Mobile Network

Really like the One X and do most of my data work via wi-fi connection. But, for some reason I cannot get the Mobile Network to work for internet, data, etc. Is there a setting that I am missing that allows me to download data via mobile network?

All works great with wi-fi turned on. But as soon as i turn wi-fi off and the mobile network is on I have not connection. And yes we have a strong mobile network connection here- works on other devices and my phone shows 3-4 bars beside the 4G LTE logo.

Is there a setting blocking data using via mobile network?

Thanks for any help you can offer.

After spending 3 hours on the phone with HTC Support, the ATT support and then back to HTC Support we finally got the mobile network working.

I learned alot about this phone as we tried lots of different things, settings, etc...

Finally, put the phone in airplane mode and did a soft reboot... then, the mobile network connected... probably for the first time since I got the phone almost 3 weeks ago. I do about 99% of my data work on wi-fi.

Nice to have it working for an upcoming trip!

If you run into a similar problem try that solution.

With wi-fi off, can you browse Internet? Or you just have problems with accessing contents from some applications like downloading attachments in MMS messages? Do you have a data plan with your service provider so that you can have a data quota like 1GB per month?

I do have the plan... somehow although the signal was reaching the One X it was not finalizing and receiving the signal in the browser or application. Putting it into airplane mode and doing a soft reboot did the trick.

I have this problem as well. Even it shows to have mobile connection, it actually can't get any IP address, so no data connection. I use a lot mobile data. So this happens to me 2 to 3 times everyday. This is annoying me so much. Is there a permanent fix?

This is a very strange one.

Things that spring to mind are…. check the APN settings (with your carriers web site or google them), make sure you have a data plan and its enabled (sometimes it needs provisioning by your carrier)

You could go to Mobile Network>APN's>Menu>Reset.

This will prompt you for your carrier name (For me it gave a choice of TMobile and those that use TMobile, like Virgin, IkeaMobile, so get it right) and then fetch the APN(s) itself for WAP,MMS etc.

I just put a T_mobile SIM in as im leaving Three, and there was no mobile network on T-Mobile for a good hour or so. Not sure if me doing the APN thing fixed it or just waiting for the SIM to be fully provisioned was what worked.

I'm having this exact same problem, I've been through all the APN settings with Orange customer service but nothing has worked. In the end they recommended a master reset.

The problem with this is that I have a lot of data stored in my calendar & contacts (I have my own business and have been using my phone as my PA). Another issue I'm having with the phone is that sync manager only updates from my PC to the phone, and not the other way around.

So, my options now are to manually check each contact and calendar item and add them to my PC so I can do a master reset, or wait around until HTC fixes one of these two problems.

I'm very annoyed, especially as my work colleague is an apple die-hard. He's gonna have a field day with this one!

Anyone have any ideas?

Download MyBackUp or Titanium Backup and use these to backup your calender and contacts.

It can also backup your apps with data o you won't lose anything.
