For those of you who are still contemplating if ZVC or ZVD is able to be rooted or not, or not sure if you want to risk it or not, or if you are still on ZVB waiting to update when rooting is possible for ZVC or ZVD...

ZVC & ZVD ROOTING IS NOW POSSIBLE!! (Courtesy of Dan Rosenberg)

Below is a video to show proof of the ZVC & ZVD root method (originally posted here: Security Research by Dan Rosenberg and thanks to PlayfulGod for sharing it on AF here: http://androidforums.com/esteem-all-things-root/500491-root-lg-esteem-zvc.html).

This video is also a complete tutorial walk through on how to complete the entire process. Yes, an actual LG Esteem was rooted in this video. (Hint: Watch the video in the highest quality your internet connection will allow for clarity)

**As stated in the video, it is assumed that the LG ADB Drivers for the phone have already been installed on your computer. Do this first**

Enjoy!

any help appreciated (i have read the brilliant guides, posts, threads on here, thanks for all of them!)
i am on ZVD - the phone has never been rooted & has had no problems, been working great! but want them crappy, useless apps gone, or frozen, aside from ALL the MANY other benefits to rooting, but for now - can i just use/follow instructions on the video to root, and then debloat and that is all? sorry for dim question/
flashing roms and much more, will be next/later, but want to get rid of the bloatware, first, will the stock rom be ok?
lol me, did this post make sense?
thanks again & cheers to all who contribute to this fine forum!

Makes perfect sense:D
Its entirely up to what you would like to do with your phone. All depends what your needs are for daily use. I also used to just delete all the bloat and run that way but I enjoy testing different things:eek:
All of the new ROMS out for ZVD are excellent. All the tweaks for battery life & performance are all contained.
If you ever decide to check any of them out and need some help just post up.:)

Just make sure right after you're done rooting to install recovery and make a backup before removing/changing anything(ROM manager is the easiest way):)
