*Before you flash a new ROM make share you make a backup, cause anything can happen. This applies to anytime your flashing a ROM. Better safe than sorry.*

1) Make a backup of the current ROM you're on. You can back it up on the external or internal Sd card. It's really all up to you on where you want to save it.

CWM Recovery> Backup and Restore> Backup/Backup to internal Sd card.

2) Okay, once cwm is done making the backup, flash the new ROM.

Wipe Data/Factory Reset> Yes
Wipe Cache> Yes
Advance> Wipe Dalvik Cache> Yes
*Go Back and Scroll to mounts and storage*
Mounts and Storage> Format Data> Yes
Do that for Cache and System.
*Go Back*
Scroll To Install Zip From Sd Card> Choose Zip> Find The Place Where You Put Your ROM In
ROM Name> Yes.

Wait till it finishes installing and reboot the device.

3) Once it rebooted, set up your google account info and anything Else you want. Reboot back into recovery.

4) Scroll Down to Backup and Restore. Now scroll to advance restore or advance restore from internal Sd card(Depending on where you saved your backup)

Recovery> Backup and Restore

5) Select the back up you made before you flashed the new ROM. Now you'll have files that end with a ".img" select the one that says data.

Advance restore/Advance Restore From Internal Sd Card> The Backup you made> Data.img> Yes

6) While it finishes restoring your data.img make yourself a sandwich. :D

7)Reboot the device once it's done restoring and you should see all the apps you had before flashing the new rom.

Side note: I only do this if the ROM has been upgraded. Not sure how it would work out if you restored data from another ROM. Ex: Restoring Data from broken out ROM to Black Plague ROM. Doesn't hurt to find out though lol

To be on the safe side lol and that's how I did it since I had my ascend
be carefull with formatting, the only time you should ever need it is if you MUST get something off that partition, other-wise you could have a bad day with no system installed lol, and you dont NEED to backup the entire rom for this.. just go to advanced and backup the data only, saves much time :D

one more piece of advice i would give is like you mentioned in the comment posted on ld-lg, wouldn't reccomend doing it from different roms.. but just do it when the rom your using has an update.. or something like that.. if you do it from like ld-lg to #2 you'll be ok because i set the roms up almost identicle.. but if you switch to mt or pg's rom it might have a difference where an app you have backed up may not like how the new rom is set up and could cause issues.. and definetly DO NOT do this with a CM branded rom lol issues without a doubt!! :D

but all in all a good guide/time saver! thanks man!

I must be blind cause I aint seeing it.

This is a flash for JUST the "Swipe to clear notifications"?
