Need advice on the right phone to buy

Hi Guys

I am driving myself crazy trying to research the best phone to buy for my budget of around $450. I currently use an iphone 3gs and are now not happy mainly due to really low call volume and the round menu button takes me several pushes to turn the screen on, so frustrating. I thought I had found the answer with urchasing the htc desire sand it has some great reviews but have found call volume is really bad as wel. Now I just dont know what to do. The only other htc phone that seems to sound good is the htc evo 4g lte but it really is too big for what id like. Any great tech savy people on here that would love to give me their opinions? I really am looking for something better than the iphone 3gs with great call and ring volume plus all the things you expect from a smartphone these days. The reason I have been mainly looking at the htc models is because of the quality in design.

Would love to hear from you, thanks so much :)

I really like the EVO 4G LTE, too. In some ways I think it is pushing the size limits as well. However, that seems to be the trend with all the high-end phones today.. they come with large screens. If you want the best, it looks like a 4.5"+ screen is what you're going to get with it. I've had my best experiences with HTC products, and that is why I will be getting the EVO 4G LTE.
