Tag for Droid - is this a website? Linky? :D

TagsForDroid.com

I use Tasker to do all of my location settings for my phone, but THAT is a GREAT idea!

I prefer the NFC tags because in theory it should use less battery than an app that is polling for locations. And I really only need to change most settings when I get in and out of the car, so NFC seems perfect.

I might still use Tasker for certain things, like setting up a tether when I plug in by USB from a PC, but in theory I could use an NFC tag for that instead.

Has anyone else had trouble re deeming/setting up the google wallet card? In google wallet and redeeming your free $10 credit from sprint? I set it up and when I go to set up the card it says sorry google wallet has failed :( :( :( :( ??? And I can't set up the google pre paid card that comes with google wallet :( :( :(

Did you update the app? When I opened the app for the first time, it prompted for a mandatory update.

If I was in your shoes I'd probably go for a System Reset. You're having too many issues for it to be all coincidental.

I thought you were able to add a debit/credit card to wallet? The only thing I could find was Citi Bank Mastercard. Does it have to be added from a computer?

You can add only citi Mastercard or Google prepaid card currently. You can however set up a card to transfer money to the prepaid card, and that can be anything. It's an extra step, but it's the only way currently.

just did this. allows you to save your card's info for future re-ups. pretty simple, actually.

all I need now is money.

AAhh yes I do remember reading that thank you. I wondering when they will be adding other card support? For an app that is about convenience in a payment option seems silly to have an inconvenient step of having to continually add money to a card.

it lets you pick an amount, and, I think it's the same, even for the citi card. if they added your card to the list, my guess is you'd still have to pick an amount. when it's depleted, you just click a button to add more (card info is saved). seems pretty easy to me.

Just used the google wallet with the NFC to buy lunch, partly to see how easy it was and how it works. Amazingly simple and I can see many uses for it in the future

As a side note, when you set up google wallet and use the prepaid google card, you get $10 put on it to start. Not much, but its a free lunch :D

My first attempt to use google wallet has failed...using the 10 that they give you I attempted to use it at wawa they have the pay pass reviecers and my phone said the transaction went through but on the cashiers end she had nothing...everyone in line was so intrigued in what I was doing they were all puzzled...but I got cursed out by one old man...we had words in the parking lot..don't worry lol...so I guess even tho stores may have the hardware...maybe their system isn't ready? What could I be doing wrong?

If you are doing a reset of your phone, be sure to reset Google Wallet first. I failed to do so, and I think I've bricked the NFC capability. See this article:

http://m.engadget.com/default/artic...ry-reset-problem/&category=classic&postPage=1

I've spent quite a bit of time with Sprint to get this resolved, but I will have to try Google, and I may have to replace the phone.
