Samsung T959 for T-Mobile in the works? | T Mobile News & Phone Reviews From Cell Phone Signal

Can't imagine Samsung is going to put any time into developing for the Behold 2 when its replacement is right around the corner. My guess is a Memoir 2 running Android. Plus there is no way TMO will cannibalize sales of their first 2.1 phone (~$239) for a similar model selling for ~$50 (what the price is rumored to be for the Behold 2 when the the Cliq XT is released.

I don't expect it from Sammy or T-Mo but we'll get it ... with the help of BH_MAN, kam187, you and others. We just need to be patient. It's tough keeping up with all the threads.
It's the same in the WinMo world. I'm running a WM 6.5.3 on my Omnia and I doubt, seriously, Verizon will ever send an update to 6.5 for it. They'd rather sell me another phone.

that makes no sense because the cliq will be running 2.1 by june and its 49 bucks on amazon!

btw the behold2 is $29 now on amazon, or free from letstalk

Do you all realize that this "update" question is played out on every Android board for every phone on every carrier? seriously. This is the nature of the Android biz and I think the carriers probably like it. Get enough people to panic and they sell more phones. I think everyone will get the update, just all at different times. I think it will be just like I read; if your phone's hardware can't handle certain aspects, they'll just scale it down a bit but it WILL be an update. Everyone needs to calm down and start devloping some patience. Otherwise, you will be making yourself crazy because sure as the B2 gets an update, so the next round of questions start on the update after THAT. You know? And so it goes...

New Phones Still Sold With Old Versions of Android | Gadget Lab | Wired.com

A Wired article basically telling people that there is no incentive to push a higher OS version since they can't sell you navigation when you get it for free.

But I do like how they explain development time, so the people whining about how we haven't gotten an OS update can understand that its not an overnight process to upgrade an OS.

im not worried. we'll get it.

and if we dont i'll get an iphone.

i'm being serious.

I love how apple made a name for themselves as being anti-"big brother" (1984 commercial) and now they have become totally like big brother! I think the consumer can decide what apps they can add to their phone, not some giant corporation. And no multi-tasking? Even Blackberry had that about 10 years ago! All of the sales figures point to Android as being the future leader in smartphones.

I'm an Apple Fan myself. I think I'll always be! But, I do have an Iphone & it's being used more than I thought it would.... Paper weight Holding down all of my Android Note's.

Honestly though,
Don't Let Update's push you away from a Great OS & Phone combo we Have to date.

Oh, I'm here to stay. I was a loyal Blackberry guy for 8 years, won the Behold 2, and don't think I'm ever going to change phone OS. For me, getting the update will be a bonus, right now it does everything I need. In fact, I think we get it this summer around when Samsung releases their first factory 2.1 phone. As for Apple products, I had a MacBook, but just had too many problems to use as an everyday computer. I also have a Mac Mini running Windows 7!

I love the whole hacking aspect of the Android (I'm trying to learn) since the only real hacking in the BB was to remove java cod's that you didn't want.

I'll eventually change OS but I will be on android for this year and next year to come although this damn phone(behold 2) gives me too many problems lately so I may be a new adopter of the Cliq XT or Cliq or HD2 :D I wish I could develope for android but man where to start? I'll figure it out later maybe... maybe even mytouch... G1 just seems like going in a backward direction or maybe Nexus one but apparently there are a million problems there too...

The new Cliq xt & Cliq update that come's on new Phone's hasn't been Rooted, Just a warning there. But, There is work being done by the Same guy that wrote the .shx for the original Root.

I'd go with a MT3G or Magic (32b / 32a ).
There great running Phone's, I'm just happy you are sticking with Android :)

haha yeah I have been all for android from the get go because I see all the potential the phone OS has with it's openess and how just about anyone can develop for it, I just hate how the updates go. and even though my phone is back up and running I still might consider getting an MT3G as a 2nd back up phone.

I'm rather annoyed with my Behold II right now. It's a great looking/feeling phone, but after it wiped my 16GB memory card yesterday, my trust in it is rather shaken.

With my previous Samsung phones, I've never had a single problem with any of them. I guess the Behold II was the "Big engine that couldn't" rather than being the Little engine that could.

I ordered a Moto Cliq yesterday so I know I will have a working phone and then I decide if I should keep the Behold II and try different firmware on it or just cut my losses and sell it.

What a drag. I love the touchscreen design of Android phones but I don't like the MyToy 3G nor the Cliq XT which just felt cheap.

If I wasn't on a budget, I would just call it a day and buy a Nexus One.

WWWWWWHAAAAT?????????????

NO, I HAD FAITH THAT IT WOULD GET A UPDATE, THIS JUST CRUSHES MY HEART SERIOUSLY.

i think i'm gonna prepare and sell my bh2, and get the blackberry bold 9700. i was gonna get that phone anyway but i won the bh2 last year and decided to hold off. but this is a huge upset, why release a nice phone that has potential, and not make a update for it to show off it's performance????? its like they just created a phone just for the money, they need to stop making good phones like this and not have it up to par. i'm sorry but i am really disgusted with samsung, sure they gave me a free phone. but they do not want to release the latest rom for it. i wonder why????? :(

edit: and i guess i wont be apart of these forums anymore as well, all hope has went down the drain for the behold 2 for me :(
