Android 2.3 & 4.0 WiFi Internet HD 1080P HDMI Google TV Box ARM Cortex A9 Firmware

I Have Linux machine ....:dancing2:

How I Can flash new one with sdcard >>????

Ok, but then I don't know where the problem is... If you know how to actually use linux, all is written in amlogics guide. All you have to change is to use your u-boot-aml-ucl.bin file instead of u-boot-aml.bin from the guide.

What you have to do is to open terminal and copy u-boot-aml-ucl.bin to beginning of sdcard with dd command. After that you have to delete all partitions on your sdcard with fdisk utility and create new primary partition of type fat32 which will start from 2nd or 3rd sector. Changes you have done write to your sdcard and format newly created partition. Copy all upgrade files to your sdcard's newly created partition and insert it into your box. After that do standard recovery procedure using reset button on the back.

How can I know it?
I bought it here. Model number V338.
I have seen other names of same products.
Who is real manufacturer this?
Are you sure that it is Visson?

That's Vissons product. If you're running Android 4, it's ATV-108 (officially). Old ATV-108 boards used pretty much the same hardware as ATV-101. ATV-108s with new chipset (AML8726M3) afaik are not available yet for end customers. New ATV-108 uses different hardware and it's based on different chipset (m3).

I have one of these with 4.0 and I wanted to pass on, sometimes it takes two or three tries to get it to start up. If anyone thinks theirs is dead; something to keep in mind.
Otherwise this box really stands out as a good one in my mind. They set the storage up right so you have a lot of room to install apps (not a ridiculous 100mb like I've seen on some android 2.2 devices). When the thing boots up as a new device it asks you which launcher to use so you can pick the android one instead of the 'tv box' one. You can get into settings and pick an android keyboard profile that doesn't overlay the video pop up touch / mouse one over everything. I've had good streaming / flash luck and it is an A9 / pretty powerful (onlive works btw). My wireless works. It supports wireless kb and mouse or USB. The TV resolutions translate to computer monitor resolutions (re: 1080p works fine through a $3 DVI adapter to pc monitor) and it has a screen resizing utility... Only things I could not get to work were Bluetooth (wouldn't work with add on dongles that my pads worked with) and VPN. I’ve tried everything with them so I think they’re just kludged / wrong in the kernel build.
I basically use mine as a smart thin terminal… thin term but it can run its own programs as needed since it has the horsepower. But anyway, if you’re reading this thread because you’re thinking of buying one; I’d say they are a very good unit (and there are a lot of bad android TV boxes available).

Anyone successfully getting Wireless Mouse with USB dongle to work on the android box.

Mine seems to work for a while and stop or at times, does not work at all.
Using wired mouse is fine.

I am having
MBX VISSON 2.0 Board
Android 4.03
Kernel 3.02
Build
ICS.MBX20120504

Regds
Max

I use the cheap Microsoft wireless kb and mouse combo that come with their keyed usb dongle / radio. They all work. I got a mouse with the android box, it was unreliable so I threw it out.

Mine does not seem to go into standby (which is good). Is there a setting somewhere so he could turn standby off?

No, there is no option for that. It's bad idea by default not to be able to put device to standby. I will think about it and maybe add it somewhere in options in my future fw releases.

About USB not going to standby, it's something unexplainable... sometimes it goes immediate, sometimes not.... depends on what's connected to usb (by my experience).

This link isn't real proof.
I can see same information of other brands about this product.
There isn't any link to their own site in the alibaba's page you showed.
And why do this 3 products have different names but same specifications?

And have they resolved a problem with AC3 sound?
I have. Maybe I'm a manufacturer? :)

Ok, let me say this way.... Visson is producing and branding devices for me, so they are manufacturers of ATV-108, ok? :)

AC3 problem is licensing issue, that's the reason why it doesn't work (Android 2.3.4 is different story). If you install ac3 license file to efuse, it will work.

I don't want to hijack/reroute this thread by any means however this is the only thread I can find on this device.

Does anyone else have the issue of Flash (version 11) crashing every browser? I'm on Build ICS.MBX.20120422 (the latest I believe)...

Other than the Flash issue (which is kind of the reason I bought it) I love the thing.

Here you go:
install_flash_player_ics_1207.apk download - 2shared

It's Flash 10.2 for ICS by Amlogic. Works on ICS builded today by me (from Amlogic sources) within default browser, so it should work with all others.

Also, not to forget, I will release and upload ICS firmware to ATV-108 (AML8726M chipset) with Samba support, video player with settings that could be saved, subtitles problem will be solved (there is an option to choose which codepage to use for decoding).

Will post link to fw here...

sweet pwlad! how did you fix ac3? post link to files or whatnot..i tried to set the licence in efuse but i don't think this recovery console allows setting the audio efuse like that...ethernet sure...but not the audio licence, unless you know better stane19833...also stane1983, how did you add samba to ICS? i tried and found i can't start the smbd daemon needed for samba.apk to work right in the init.rc. i can start it at command line, but it has to be restarted every time you wanna go to a new share...and init.rc is generated by boot.img in the update.zip...and boot.img is overwritten by the recovery img at every boot, or so i heard? so how are you auto starting the samba daemon (/system/bin/smbd) on bootup? i can't unpack any of the boot.img i've tried for any kind of amlogic android tv...and i have tried every tool in the book, including the kitchen sink..

i'd also like to expand out the /system partition at some point to a little more than 256mb...with the market patch that the update comes with, it can't even install all the gapps cos it runs out of install space on the /system partition. and if you fill the /system partition too full, your android system will fail to boot. it needs just a few kilobytes free to boot..i've learned this the hard way rolling my own firmwares for the atv-108. maybe i'll post my updated firmware here once i fix samba and ac3. then it's almost perfect.

oh, and i want to add a feature to the 2.3.4 and 4.0.3 versions here for atv-108 but i don't know how. i need my atv to turn off about 15 minutes after a movie ends and stops playing. i need it to turn off or go into standby so that my projector loses video signal and then it goes to sleep 10 minutes later. i do this with my laptop in my bedroom. i have a projector that i use every night. i have it set to vlc plays my movie in windows, then ends, then windows sleeps 15 minutes later and that triggers the projector to sleep 10 minutes after that. then my bulb doesnt run all night with nothing on. i need this standby feature on my atv-108 so i can replace this shitty HP laptop!

i don't have a solution to ac3 yet..i have tried every ac3 firmware file i could get my hands on, and i also tried many variations of setting the licence file into efuse that i found on a geniatech enjoy forum on here. i don't think this recovery console allows audio efuse commands and i havent found any other way of loading this on here...maybe a recovery console from another 8726m tablet or something that allows audio efuse licence file setting...then load our recovery image back on? just an idea...
