Help User Reviews of The HTC EVO 4G LTE

Yes it does and it works amazingly well, it wants to stare you down for 30 seconds while you set it up but after that it is instant upon unlock, I barely even see my face on the screen its so quick!
Loving this feature!

Also, a side note, typing on forums now has no lag!!! (Old og evo problem)

Forgive me for this question......but what is face unlock?

The screen on this phone is ridiculous people won't stop asking to hold it bc of how light and nice to hold it is..but the.main complement I get is about the screen..this display puts apple's retina display to shame imho..that was the one thing that I gave apple...before this device... But now..the ltevo is king..and don't get me started on the camera...let's put it this way...this phone takes FAR superior pictures than that of my digital camera which is a canon....I am more than impressed...it beat all of my expectations there is just so much good to say about this phone

The ppi is still lower on this phone than the iPhone 4 or 4S, but because it's a larger size screen it looks more impressive. However, for my money nothing beats the retina display on the new iPad. Again, lower ppi but the size of it makes it look so impressive.

And while I love this screen, if you hold it up against a 4S and take screen size into account, one does not trounce the other. They're very close in quality.

I'm pretty much speechless. This phone takes a dump on any phone I have ever owned and all phones that are out on the market right now. This includes the One X because it has a dedicated camera button and micro sd support. Looking at pictures on the internet, you may prefer the design of the One X like I did. In person it's a whole different story. When the BB rep opened up the box and pulled it out, I said "holy ****" to my self. The screen is so gorgeous. The thinness and strip of brushed aluminum around the sides of the phone screams class and sexy. The phone is very light but still feels expensive. +397267632 for the included kickstand, and the glossy plastic does not look bad in person. In fact it makes the phone stand out from others. This may seem trivial to others, but I like the glossy back because I can tell how the phone is oriented in my pocket before pulling it out.

It was my opinion... Never said it was backed by facts..to me this is a lot nicer.. I never got a single screen compliment when I had the iPhone for a week..I've had phone 2 days and have gotten countless compliments...just my opinion..didn't mean it to offend anyone

as far as the cord its the same length as the original evo, so far today no reboot, yea! And was worried about the Battery, but so far love it. See how long before the rooting starts.

the evo3d cord is a tad longer I compared the two..only reason I noticed this is bc I set my phone on my dresser to charge..the 3vo reached halfway up the dresser when plugged in and the LTevo made it about a quarter of the way..if not for that I would have never noticed lol

Some times its not safe trying to hold it up in the car to see my face while driving just to make a phone call.

This may get me off the WiMax/LTE fence. I really do want a new Ltevo but just haven't been able to get past the thought of living with 0.13 mbps download speeds 3g offers in my area.

Greensboro,NC has decent WiMax coverage where I work and play but is currently not listed in the first or second round of LTE rollouts.

Hope these faster 3G speeds on Ltevo are true, and look forward to hearing more.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but I think it's only after the NV tower upgrades that you will see this enhanced 3g performance.

Here I am.
Somebody had to do this. I guess I'll be the one.
19 pages of tapatalk and not one benchmark screenshot?
I'd like to think I have some competition out there...
Speed tests? Lte is no faster than HSPA+42, is it?
(I don't know what either means).

Battery?
Display?
Looks?

I don't know...
Sammy or HTC. Hmmm.

I know you guys have a bad phone.
But some of the posts I get a tickle from.

Baddest on the planet?
Takes a dump on my phone?

Someone even compared it to an iPhone?? Why?
That would make any Android owner proud, I reckon.

I do apologize.
I'm just a little antagonistic tonight because I finally got the nerve to flash my first ROM after about 12 hours of trying to fix the display on the PC, which I finally did (thanx again, Tresezk).
But now the stupid thing has slowed to a crawl and "cannot load plug-ins".

I don't trust it to flash Darkside Evolution ICS or anything else onto my phone now.
I was so close to being one of those that have, after messing with this PC for so long, for not.

My dog hates me.
I haven't eaten anything or brushed my hair.

I'm frustrated and I'm tired.

I thought this was supposed to be fun.

:) Many thanks! :)

That was the missing piece in our FAQ.

The 9+ GB space on the phone is now called /sdcard, just like your old physical card used to be. The external (actual, physical) sd card is now simply accessed via /ext_sd meaning - external sd. :) ;)

Hate to disagree with this, but when I added a second card to mine, it came up as /sdcard2. I'm guessing it's taking the name from whatever volume name was already on the card when you put it in. I didn't reformat the one I put in, so I don't know what it would come up as if you did that, but I wanted people to know it might come up as something different. In other words ... YMMV. :)

No offense taken. I just happen to have a 4S, LTEvo, and new iPad at the moment so I can look at all three side by side. I know there's not much love for Apple on these boards, but their retina display screens really are impressive, as is the screen on the LTEvo. In this case I'd say it's not a contest because if you're looking for a good screen, you can get any of these devices and have a great display to look at.

Is there any stock setting that I can change the battery bar to a percentage?

If this was answered, I missed seeing it. I'm not aware of a stock setting that does that, that's why I use an app called Battery Indicator Pro by Darshan Computing. I think I paid for it but they have a free version, just leave off the "Pro" in your search and you'll find it. There are probably other apps that do the same thing.

It puts a little number up in the upper left of your screen showing the percentage left. You can see it in my screenshot here in the screenshots thread: http://androidforums.com/htc-evo-4g-lte/555013-htc-evo-4g-lte-screen-scene.html#post4436719

I came to Dallas from Phoenix yesterday. The phone won't update for the time zone change. I updated PRL and profile several times as well as restart. Nothing is doing it.

My phone got confused about the time yesterday too so I turned off automatic time zone for now. I remember reading a few other posts about this yesterday but I don't remember the thread.

**Apparently if you update your PRL &/or profile (I don't know if it's both or just one that does it), LTE will turn back on (I read that here somewhere and it happened to me too) so make sure you turn that back off if you don't want it on right now.

I use the same app, but now my question is can I get rid of the superfluous Sense battery icon?
