So, what's your overall opinion of the Maxx so far? I saw a friend's and was impressed but I still feel that I should take another look before committing.

well....SO FAST, SO DURABLE, AND OH GAWD THE BATTERY! lol Tons of room for apps, I played facebook games on the browser (which eats the battery the most), several games on the phone (draw free, temple run, blood and glory, flcommando, basketball shoot, hambo), so gpsing, and about an hours worth of netflix along with downloading about 30 apps. after 6 hours of not putting my phone down the first day I got it I killed it after 6 hours (started at 50% battery life. I ran out of things to try to kill the battery with lol. So nice to have a phone that you don't have to worry about and pray the battery makes it till you can get to a charger. With normal use (few gaming here and there) last 15+ hrs. I'm glad I jumped on this phone

Motorola Can Do Big Things With the DROID RAZR HD [Opinion] – Droid Life

While I love Droid-Life, I find this piece a bit off the mark. Basically, I think he states the obvious with too much focus on the bootloader. An unlocked bootloader would be great, but I think all us "enthusiasts" forget who really buys these phones (non-technical folks). I'm sure more people would buy a phone w/ an unlocked bootloader, but not enough to really make or break Motorola.

Torn between the wait on this phone and the SG3. My boss jumped on the the Maxx 3 weeks ago while I'm impatiently waiting on the 'next best thing.' I'd prefer to stick with Motorola due to our history together. Samsung Omnia was my last Sammy and I vowed not to get another one again. But that was like 3-4 years ago. Wife has the SG2 and loves it, while I'm being somewhat jealous still looking at my X. My luck is both phones will be on back order when it's my time.

I believe their point was that when non-technical folks buy, many get advice from technical folks and/or tech blogs. The technical folks and blogs will give a more favorable opinion of a device with an unlocked bootloader and will be more likely to recommend it. Therefore, even the sales to the non-technical folks can be increased by including an unlocked bootloader.

Sure, sure, but of this was such a killer feature why am I not seeing Galaxy Nexuses everywhere? It'll help, but I think this is secondary.

Unfortunately, I think it comes down to marketing. The HD/Fighter has to compete with Apple and Samsung. I think their best bet would be to somehow beat both of them (iPhone 5 & SGIII) to market on Verizon and advertise the hell out of the phone (less killer robots I think too).

I'd like to see an updated design too, something to wow people like the Razr did. I doubt that's going to happen.

With what looks to be a fairly significant delay with the S3 in blue, moto has a huge opportunity. there's a lot of people waiting to jump on the next big phone out.

Sorry, but I am not as familiar with chipset architecture as I would like. Could you explain this a bit further?
Is it simply that the S4 takes up a lot of resources, and they need moret ime to balance it with 4G, and make it usable (battery wise)?

Apparently they expect "supply to be constrained until the December quarter."

S4 would be a very good option. The reports on the Galaxy with this chip are very good for battery life. Factor in the ability to add a bigger battery at will...... Grand assumption is the radios are not weak like the VZW Gnex.

IMO, no point in upgrading unless the HD has a 28nm chipset, so if the HD has an OMAP, pass for me.

This is an odd technical spec to be hung up on. I assume you're looking at battery life saving with a smaller nm chips? Wouldn't a 3300 battery and S4 be good enough?

Rush,ore, has the razr signal improved? I remember when the razr and rezound came up, there were many reports that the rezound's signal was better. I was shocked to read that especially briefly owning an inspire on AT&T that I had to return because it couldn't hold a signal like my 9900.

My post may have been a little misleading. Like I said, i chose to start and read through, while not skipping to the end, because I wanted to be fully informed.

I am amazed that Verizon and Moto can keep a population of people hanging for so many months. My disbelief is in the companies, not the people that tried to stay on top of this issue.

Safe to say, I am cool and collected. I simply just want the HD

The Rezound does have better reception for 3g and 4g, plus better stability with data connections. Not enough for me though to offset the Rezound's weak display angles, weak contrast and odd touch response issues. Game emulators are nearly unplayable on the Rezound.

Still, if the other stuff did not matter and was mainly phone function centric, the Rezound has appeal.
