Group texting non existant?

Cant really find much on this...why doesn't group texting work with my T-Bolt? is it all Android that sucks or is it just the T-Bolt. I can send to multiple people but They end up as individual texts. Then if I am included in a group text I cant see the other recipients. I tested it to make sure I should be able to. My wife's iPhone does it beautifully. I tried the stock app, Handcent and GoSMS and none of them work.

I haven't found one that will do group messages like that, though I haven't really looked because I don't have a need for it. Hopefully you can find something.

Do you mean, you want to make a group and send one message and it goes to everyone in that group?

Yes, kind of like a thread. I can create a text and send it to multiple recipients
But it lists each message separately, and when the recipients reply its just to me, so if I need to then reply back it's not to the group. Also if some sends me a group text I don't see the names in the group, just mine, and I can't reply to the group then. Like I said the iPhone does it nicely.

Have you tried the latest version of Go SMS Pro? I'm using 4.51 on my T-Bolt and am able to group text with iPhones both ways now. Make sure you have "MMS Group Chat" checked under Menu-Settings-Advanced-Send Settings.

I can do this with Handcent SMS. It's free.

Handcent also gives the bubble style SMS message, like an Iphone. The one thing I like about Iphone is the bubble text message, which now we can have on Android, with Handcent :-D

I can do this with Handcent SMS. It's free.

I used Handcent from the time the T-Bolt came out all the way until now and I couldn't get group sms to work.

I did try Go SMS now and it works. In addition there are a lot of nice feature to it. So I am goign to stick with Go SMS Pro until the iPhone 5 comes out. Then I switch. Not for any reason just that I've had them ALL, starting from a Palm Pilot to my T-Bolt and have not had an iPhone yet. (But I do have an iPad which I love)
