Anybody jumping ship for the Galaxy S3?

If GS3 on verizon comes with $199, this essentially kills Dinc4G still not released. The new qualcomm radio is the same but at higher clock and everything else is better.

I'm quite surprised that Sammy pulled it off with all four major carriers with nearly the same phone design and release timeframe. That has been Apple territory so far.

It also brings a new era for Verizon phones. High end smartphones probably wont be released at the 300$ mark anymore! And the Dinc4g will probably only be 99$ to 150$ at launch.
I really hope I get a chance to compare both phones in store to see which one I like best. I kind of feel like it would be very obnoxious to carry around a phone like this. I dont even know if it'll fit in my pockets lol. (I wear skinny jeans, but they actually have rather large pockets)

i'm not jumping ship for the S3. I'm coming from the Gnex and went back to my Dinc. But, i'm not onboard with the Dinc 4G either.

it sux that VZW passed on the One Series. There's no high end model in sight cept maybe that rumor 5" phablet. Other than that nothing from HTC that would go against the S3, RAZR HD, or even that LG whatyoucallit.

Count me in for the SGS3. I was all psyched to get the HTC Incredible 4g coming from an iphone 4s (and loving the 3.5" screen). I don't like looking like i'm holding up a tablet to my face. But i am one who still has unlimited on Verizon and I've read they are changing over to the new plans this month.

Not knowing the release of the Inc and knowing that i can preorder the SGS3 on Wednesday is a done deal. If i hold out for the Inc and then it is going to release after the switch over i'm screwed. Plus if i wait and then want the SGS3 and try to order it, it will most likely be a long backorder.

So Con for SGS3: Huge stupid screen.

Plusses for SGS3: Same 28nm S4 chip as Inc.
EXCELLENT battery life (look at real world playback tests, beats X One handily).
2gb of ram instead of 1gb (might as well future proof)
32gb of internal space instead of 8gb (more space is always better)

I mean you all can do the comparison on phonearena or wherever. The phones are similar. You just choose huge (4.8) or just right (4.0) and touchwiz or sense.

I'm just going with the sure bet, which is SGS3 now and i'll get used to the huge form factor (though it is thinner than Inc 4g and has less of a bezel). All i need is a verizon lte phone to keep my unlimited and these are pretty much the only choices if you are looking to future proof your 2yr contract purchase :)

Good luck with the Inc 4g.

I'm so happy about this announcement. I wanted to stay loyal to HTC because my first smartphone, the original INC, was such an awesome phone. I wanted a larger screen than the Incredible 4g, so this S3 is coming at the right time. I was just about to jump at the MAXX. My New Every Two discount happens on June 9th, and I'll be preordering/ordering the S3.

VZW is quoted as saying new data plans won't be rolled out until the end of the year (my guess is even later).

Can you please link the quote? i'm honestly curious cause that would be sweet to have more time to wait it out and decide. if i google the topic i come up with LOTS of articles and most all mention "mid summer" or "during the summer" even as far back as Dec. '11. I can't find the OFFICIAL statement though (just copies of it) and in that it says "later this year". Of course that statement means nothing except, "not today." By no means does it mean they are waiting until December to switch over.
