Hey guys.

Anyway I have been using Steel since I thought it was overall faster at loading pages than Browser. But then I decided I would actually time them both to see which one is faster. Before every benchmark, I would

-Clear Cache
-Clear Cookies
-Clear History
-Clear Form Data
-End all processes other than ones needed to run android, and the browsers themselves.

Tests were run with an HTC Magic (288MB of RAM), 4 Bars of 3G, Rooted and running the CyanogenMod ROM (I do not know if the browser has been modified or not)

Site 1: NY Times

This is a great benchmarking site. It is full of images and text, and really shows all the muscle that a browser has.

Steel : Fully Loaded 1:27, Usable (Images and text loaded, scrollable) 15 seconds

Browser : Fully loaded 1:21, Usable 15 seconds.

Site 2 : Ebay.com
Well-know site. Lots of graphics and text

Steel : Fully Loaded 0:21 , Usable 0:15

Browser : Fully Loaded 0:26 , Usable 0:21

Site 3 : BestSkinsEver.com
Site for those skin cases. More text than graphics

Steel : Fully Loaded 0:13, Usable 0:11

Browser: Fully Loaded 0:41, Usable 0:38

As you can see from these numbers, they are pretty much tied, but browser really screwed up on bestskinsever.com for a reason not known to me (I ran the test twice with the same result)

No the.browser.is not multittouch enabled. Would be a good idea though if someonr could release a mt browser

Multi-touch is available in the Browser of some of the rooted builds....

I think i recall you saying that you were using a Cyanogen build ... so it is available there ... I am currently using Build Ver 3.9.10
