Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning all! Today is exciting for me - I am selling a giant-scale airplane I won at a flying event last year. It's a beautiful airplane and I'm thankful to have won it, but crop dusters just aren't my thing so I put it up for sale. A retired Special Forces gentleman from around the Ft. Bragg area is coming to purchase it tonight. I couldn't have asked for it to go to a better person - he is very much into crop dusters and seems very excited about it. I feel very strongly about the brave men and women in our armed forces - especially those that have been wounded or make the ultimate sacrifice in defense of freedom - so I'm happy that he's going to buy it. The good news for me, of course, is that I'm getting enough money to finish several projects as well as make a ton of room in my workshop. :D

I had my Meaningful Use meeting yesterday afternoon. Anyone in the medical field knows what that is. My responsibility for Meaningful Use is Measure 15, which is network/data/electronic security. I'm going to be busy over the next few months, making sure things are secure and working as they should. I look to this as an opportunity to learn some things I've never really touched so I'm excited!

@Han - If your procedure is today, good luck! There's not much to it. Just take it easy for a few days and you'll be back to normal. No heavy lifting and/or don't strain yourself are the biggest things. Plenty of rest, a few painkillers, and an icepack is all that's needed.

@geek - If today is your birthday, happy birthday!!

Finally, on closing, Droid Life posted a really good guide on the new Verizon plans. Apologies if that's a re-post. My wife and I did a real quick calculation and I think we'd be paying a little more every month but not a huge amount, to have what we have now. We're not heavy data users as we're connected to Wifi as much as possible. They did a poll and found that around 75% of their members were going to be paying more money to have similar features under the new plans. I understand that poll wasn't exactly scientific, but if that's any indication on how it's going to go for everyone, Verizon really will be rolling in the dough. Like they weren't making enough money before?

Lucky, sounds awesome. I can't wait for the day I have time to get back in the hobby. I miss living in Florida because there were so many good RC airshows and clubs. Would love to take my kids to them. I have a Sig Kadet Sr. In my attic, but doubt it will hold up to finish it and get flying someday... I had a parkzone p51 that I loved, but something broke in the radio, and just don't have the time or extra cash to get a new one. Guess I will just live vicariously through you for a while ;)

It does take up a good portion of my time but I'm thankful that Spousal Unit is very supportive of me and the hobby. Do you know what's broke in your P-51? I have tons of spare parts, from servos to receivers to pushrods and everything in-between. I'd be more than happy to send you parts to get you back in the air, assuming it's something I have.

The sale of the Pawnee will fund my next helicopter (Bell JetRanger) as well as getting the rest of my electronics to finish my FPV (first-person view) airplane.

It is something on the circuitboard I think. It's a RTF park flyer, so didn't have real radio components. thanks anyways though. The extent of my flying now is one of those syma micro helicopters in my living room. Tons of fun though. I also have Great Planes G3 simulator that I will mess around in just to keep me "current" :D

Happy Birthday svt! Razor, that's a delicious looking cake there...I wonder what's inside those chocolate balls though? Malted? Peanut Butter? More chocolate??? Cherries??? Inquiring minds want to know!

<------- getting both kids gone, changing the locks & phone number, buying a cheap, used RV and disappearing ;)

+1! By the time the youngest gets out of college (she starts in 8 weeks), my husband will be retired, and I hope to be able to at least partially retire and move somewhere...anywhere...preferably somewhere with sun, sand and water...and a cute cabana boy to bring me fruity drinks with umbrellas in them all day as I lounge by the pool. :D

Mine is monday also LOL

Mine is next Thursday...the big 3-OH!

Oh...So many June babies!!! :D

He could end up like me. Didn't 'leave' home till I was 22 then came back!!! :D

My brother came back twice but his were temporary. Oh yeah, and I came back with a child!!

I'd leave again for marriage but thats about it.
Only way I'll move out is 1)I get married or 2) my job is too far from home, lol. Plus, my job would not allow me to have a good/fun life if I were to live by myself.

That's the life I want when I retire :D
