Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I am starting to suspect my network extender is sucking my battery dry over night. The reason? I use more battery in my phones (don't matter which one) with it just sitting over night. Out all day at work doing my usual on the device seems to use less battery. Either that, wifi eats up more battery then 3g/4g ???

Hey there, the extender saves my battery.. Without it, the constant searching for signal eats the battery in a few hours. I also have wifi on and don't see a drain from it. I do have to give verizon a kudo, our extender was warbling our outgoing voice to every number except other verizon wireless phones (weird, right?). Any way I called verizon to see if it could be fixed from their end, no luck. They offered to send me a new one free of charge and I am more than a year out of warranty. New one came today, warble is gone, sounds perfect! And it's a newer model, data enabled, to boot!

I have had my extender for, I think a couple years now. Maybe I should check into a new one.

We only use it when we are in the mountains, there is no cell signal here on any carrier. it was working great when we came up end of April, but we got here end of May and the warble was here. I suppose yours could be bad as well, are you getting full bars?

Your not using the verizon home phone service are you? Because my network extender plugs directly into my cable connection at home. I know the home phone thing can be used almost anywhere

Hi Steven!

Anyone else a Jeopardy fan? A nice way to relax and work my brain after a stressing day at work. Love competing with the wife. Seems the rumor that Trebek may retire from the show. Wonder who would replace him.
And, no, I don't think Will Ferrell will be the one.

But wouldn't it be great if he was the replacement?

I'm on the opposite time as all of you. I'm a December baby! Pearl Harbor day to be exact. Not the most pleasant day of course, but a nice time to be born between then and Xmas (=much more saturated time of gifts :D)

Happy Advanced Birthday!

Yeah, I am getting full bars but the wifi seems to be dipping. Looks kind of like the cellular signal on my nexus. Looks like when the phone is sleeping, it kicks on the 3g at home. Hmm...

I keep wifi on and use auto wifi enabler and wifi unlocker together. It keeps my wifi on in recognized connections and turns off the pin security. Works good to keep everything running and maximizing battery and convenience.

I guess I got a few more days to see if I want to keep this thing. The Maxx, I mean.

Looks like more radio issues with this, this time at home! Sitting at home and having my battery being eaten while I sleep and the phone on wifi and a network extender for the voice is not good. No good having that massive battery in the thing if its getting munched doing nothing. 4G has been very limited for me, however. The phone has mostly been on 3g but I am on the fringes of the towers.

Right now, that is about the only major bad thing I can think about with the phone, other then gingerbread.

The call quality is good, nice and loud. The phone is solid. While out, the battery is decent.

If this phone is going to have radio issues at home, like the nexus did, outside of the house, then I guess its really not worth having this one either. And I read about connection and wifi issues here in the Maxx forum too.

I really don't want to play music phones.

I did just root this thing too, but I am sure a restore to factory can be done. Will need to do this before returning anyway.

Does it stay or does it go?

Take it back! Take it back! Take it back!:p

Honestly, it sound like you may need to get a Rezound.

Wish I could help.
