Extra battery and travel charger

The Evo Design uses a 1520 mAh battery, but when looking on Amazon, I found an Ace Soft battery get up with a travel dock with (2) 1860 mAh batteries for around $35. Does anyone know if these will give extended time or should one stay with the 1520 mAh?

Thank you very much in advance. bdjaddy

As far as I know, and I could be wrong, but any high-cap batteries that I've dealt with in the past have been bulkier than the OEM battery, meaning a custom battery cover. Given the way the design is...designed...I wouldn't think that you'd be able to use anything except the OEM battery, but I could well be wrong.

I have been looking for a new battery as well, the only ones I can find with a higher capacity than the stock 1520mah are the ebay ones. I was wondering though if the evo or hero batteries are compatible with the evo design or with the hero s since they use the same battery.

i found a 1850 version for the EVO. I purchased one of these batterys it did not fit in my phone BUT YOU CAN MAKE IT FIT! I compared both batteries and noticed the EVO has different notches on the battery that is supposed to interlock with the phone. What i did to MAKE it FIT i got my razor blade and basically shaved off the notches on the battery a bit to make it more like the DESIGNS and it worked flawlessly. I got the battery for 3 bucks and it works perfectly. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BATTERY YOU CAN MAKE IT WORK!!!! Now i got two batteries when one of the batteries dies when im out i always carry the spare on me. So i could play games and enjoy my phone without having to worry about the battery dying.

Alright so I've been using the wall charger and extra battery for a couple of weeks now. I haven't been real scientific in my testing methods but the new battery and the one that came with the phone seem about the same in terms of performance. The wall charger is handy and it's nice to have an extra battery to swap. One minor complaint tho the wall charger doesn't maintain battery charge after it's done it's initial charge. A few times I didn't need an extra battery for a couple days and when I pulled the battery out of the wall charger it wasn't fully charged anymore. 10-15% loss I would guess.

I've had mine for about a couple months and works very well, although I have had the same issue when the battery loses power when not in use.

I could be mistaken but I think this is to preserver battery life. If the battery isn't used for a while and is on the charger, it'll let some of the charge go in order to extend the life of the battery. If it is kept at max charge all the time it will reduce the overall life of the battery.
