Better keyboard

Paid apps now being available in Canada, i had to buy at least one te see for myself. I choosed BetterKeyboard since i kept seeing skins for it.

Sadly it installed fine, but i cant figure out how to access it. I did enable it, but the seconde part where it says to long hold 123? key doesent work. In fact we dont have that key. I held the gear key and did get in the menu, but there is no alternate keyboard selection available. I couldnt find any help on the betterAndroid site so hopefully someone here already figured that one out.

Touch input seem to be in charge of the keyboard and wont let go

(Maybe you've already done this but...) after you've enabled it in the options, you need to actually select it as your input service by long holding in any text box (with the exception of widgets on your home screen). Open text messaging and go to compose and click and hold down your finger in the text box. after a few seconds you will get a box that says "select input method" or something like that. From there you can select better keyboard.

Hey thanks! that did it, i was trying to select by long holding the config key once already in touch input. betterkeyboards's explanations were not as clear !

Are you putting this keyboard on to a Magic with sense? If so I'd like to here what you think of it compared to the HTC one.

I too would like to know. I think the sense UI keyboard is good, so what is the difference between the two.

Yes i did put it on a magic with sense. Mainly to try the paid app market, and because i kept seeing skins for it. Yes the touch input is pretty decent and better looking than most skins i tried yet. There is a few extra option with betterKeyboard; language pack, speech input (need a speech engine wich i dont have yet) more word suggestions as you type, key press volume,compact querty, Leet keyboard, gestures to acces different keyboards and integration with some open home skins. So it is no essential, but nice to have. i found a few skins i really like and im wondering if i should learn how to make my own

I've tried Better Keyboard for some time. In my opinion Swype is much better.
