Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Good morning all! I've got a busy morning for work - I have to visit three of our remote sites for various problems. And while I'm in one particular town, I'll make sure to stop by the hobby shop. :D

I have to admit, the more I use the Razr Maxx the more I enjoy it. The battery life is truly impressive. I only have to keep it (or the Nexus) until October as that's when I'm eligible for an upgrade. Spousal Unit is still happy with her iSheep 4 and won't be upgrading unless the new iSheep is something drastically different from her current device. If the Razr proves to serve me well, maybe I'll get the Razr HD?

Yesterday afternoon, I got the parts I needed to get my Blackhawk back in the air. I installed the parts and now I have to balance the head and put it back in the fuselage. I also completed building the head on my T-Rex 600, which will be my new FPV (first-person view) aircraft. We're having some friends over for dinner tonight so I'll have to hit the workshop again on Thursday.

Finally, I was asked to do a candy drop for some VBS kids this coming Saturday. I have a plane that has a drop box below it and I stuff it full of candy. The kids seem to love it, and this big kid right here enjoys it as well. I'll do my best to get some pics.

Check in with youse guys later today!

That's awesome. I assume VBS is Vacation Bible School. If so, our church is doing the aviation themed VBS as well...don't think they're getting anyone to do a candy drop though, that would be awesome! :D

To my knowledge and experience with other forum members who have been burned by this:

If, at ANY time, you drop from a smartphone to a feature phone or other device that does not use cellular data, the data plan on that line effectively CHANGES and you will lose unlimited data. And you WON'T get it back.

Ever.

Oh boy do I have an awesome horror story involving my nexus for you guys. So last week i was at a rave friday-saturday. I lost my phone about half way through, and after asking a bunch of people and security if they found it no luck. Oh well mistakes happen it's just a phone. So the next day I get a message on facebook that someone thinks they found my phone. By this time the battery was dead so I doubted it very much, what are the odds someone i never met would be able to find a phone and match it with someone out of a crowd of a few thousand. So i tell him I lost my phone and that its a Verizon Galaxy nexus in a green case with an intel core i7 sticker on it. He proceeds to send me a picture of my phone to let me know he found it! Apparently the person who found it was a previous customer of mine from january (he remembers because i showed him all about rooting and what makes the nexus so awesome). We arrange a date and time to get the phone back to me in a few days. The next day I get a call from the person, they also lost my phone. But luckily they think they know where. Then the next day I get a message from one of my local friends who I see at some of the smaller raves all the time, and he lets me know that he found my phone in the trunk of his car. So finally after all this stress and hassle of losing my phone I got it back and in the same condition I found it, no cracks, water damage, even my information was intact on the phone.

long story short theres still awesome kind hearted people out there in the world!

I'm on the phone asking questions about this now and it appears you are correct. Still talking though, so we'll see.

Confirmed. If you replace your line with a mifi device, you lose unlimited data. Doesn't matter if you don't get the mifi from them, when they activate it, it automatically goes to a teired data plan. Makes sense I guess because I don't remember mifi's ever having any unlimited data associated with them.

Just received a reminder that my 10 year high school reunion is less than a month away and they need a finalized head count for who is coming....decisions decisions. I hated high school.

I hated high school too. Couldn't stand it. Was the most miserable part of my life. I graduated in 1990 and we haven't had a reunion which is fine with me. And if they did, and didn't tell me, that's okay too.

Yup, it's the Vacation Bible School kickoff for a club member's daughter's church. One of my flying buddies is bringing a trainer aircraft and is gonna let the kids fly. I was asked to bring my candy bomber so it sounds like a lot of fun for the kids. I'll see if someone can capture some pics. And if I have some time, I'll stick my little keychain cam on the candy bomber and see if I can get video.

I didn't mind high school itself. It was the other kids that made it miserable for me.

I guess I can say the same thing... I didn't mind the school per se but the rich, snotty, cruel kids is what made for a miserable experience. I woke up *every* day trying to find a reason not to go to school. I haven't talked with anyone from high school since graduation day and if I never saw a single one of them again for as long as I lived, I'd be fine with that. Wow, I just touched a nerve for myself... is that even possible? :p

College, on the other hand, was wonderful and more than made up for high school. I still have a few friends with whom I keep in touch with from college. In fact, I have a very good college friend that lives in Charlotte and I'm going to see him at the end of September. He's a fellow NY Giants fan and for the first time in a LONG time, the Giants are coming to play the Panthers. And since I can now afford the occasional NFL ticket, him and I (along with his 8-year old, who's a Panthers fan) is going to the game. It's gonna be fun!
