Help How can I see what the Misc. files are?

I am not sure if I am speaking out of line but what are Misc Files? And how can files be killing your battery?

Files are usually storage based and not necessary active to where they take ram or do processor calculations.

Maybe a better question and I am not sure if this is what you are asking - How can I see the services that are running on the background as they are killing my battery life?

if that is the question in order to see the services and your phone is not rooted - you need to go to the battery use menu (where you see what and each thing that uses battery and how many percent it is using). Click on each one of them and you can generally see the sub-services using battery.

In order to stop the non-critical services you need to gain root access and install the paid version of Titanium Backup or Titanium Backup Pro. It lets you choose a service of your phone and freeze it regardless of it running or not. This means next time the service is asked to run it will not launch because it is disabled. That is how I increased my battery life on Gingerbread - didn't really do that much difference on ICS but anyway!

Read this post. There are a lot of files you can disable even if not rooted. What exactly do you mean 'its killing your memory'? What kind of problems are you having?

The Miscellaneous files are eating up my memory also; it's using 6.53 GB to be exact.

To view these files: do to settings-->storage--->miscellaneous files.

I tried the list listed above to disable but that only did so much. You can also uninstall all updates for the apps that you don't use. That gave me 1GB, nit much but I need every bit I can get. If I list the miscellaneous will some one let me know if its alright to remove or not?

I'll try to help if you want to list them. Also, try getting Android Assistant. Look in the tools section and use Cache Cleaner and System clean. See if that helps. Do you have an external sd card? Have you moved apps that are movable to there?

I remove a lot of files; majority seemed to be music that was stored on my phone instead of sd card. I removed gameloft and media. The only problem I'm having is not being able to receive notifications for my games. Other than that everything else works fine.

Im going to install the Android Assistant app just in case.

If you have any serious problems after removing anything you can always do a factory reset. You would have to reinstall apps though.

How do I do that? Im now noticing my keyboard is a little sluggish and freeze up at times. I'll make a list of apps that's most important. Will I have to upgrade to ics again?

Go to settings > Back up and reset >factory data reset. There is a check box in there for 'format usb storage'. Make sure it is not checked unless you want to erase everything on your internal storage. Then select the Reset Device button at the bottom. It will restore everything to the original factory settings. You will still have ICS.

I have a major problem. No flashplayer! After reformatting my phone I noticed that I couldn't watch Web videos. The app is listed in my app section in the playstore but I can't install it. I can watch YouTube vids but nothing from worldstar or on Web. Please help me
