it is possible that we will still get 2.1 if verizon keeps to the Q1 time-line they gave us, but at least hero users have a less vague time line. well compared to sometime in Q1, coming weeks is like an exact day.

what are your thoughs on the subject? or do you care?

Hero came out quite a bit before the Eris so it honestly doesn't bother me at all.

The "..over the coming weeks.." in that Hero article does not seem to supercede this article about the Hero update posted just 4 days prior:

And the Eris update has been stated by Verizon reps as "..before the end of Q1," which is 31 March.

Therefore, all indications are that Eris 2.1 will come before Hero 2.1.

Exactly. And I am completely baffled by the 'verizon lied to us' posts because they said quarter 1 and quarter 1 ends March 31.

Last time I saw this kind of demand for instant gratification I was in a toy store with my daughter when she was 3. Its sad adults accuse corporations of lying and deceiving when they haven't even missed their self imposed deadlines. Its sad when the adults are getting as bad as children.

Don't mean to criticize anyone but seriously, you bought the phone knowing it came with 1.5 and that there was a scheduled update coming. This whole need for instant gratification needs to be tempered with realistic expectations.

I agree. When I bought the phone, I knew it had 1.5. I hoped that it would eventually get an upgrade, but I wasn't planning on it. 1.5 works fine for me. It does everything that it expect it to and then some.

If and when Verizon elects to release 2.1, I will have to see that works, but I am not going to lose any sleep, study time, or time with my family for an upgrade. I have too much other stuff going on in my life.

Good one OTD. Does anyone remember back to January 22nd when many swore that this was going to be the big day? Funny how life does go on. Hope to see an update soon and why can't Verizon be considerate of my schedule? They'll drop it right in the middle of a busy workday and I'll miss a bunch of productivity versus today when it's raining outside and I'm bored.
