If android didn't exist what phone would you get?

I'm still not on Android, will be an android pretty soon once my contract ends. But I think I'll be Looking for a Palm or Windows Treo if Android didn't exist.

I have this Palm Treo 600 about 5 years ago, and guess what? I just replaced my Moto RIZR Z3 with that same phone when my Moto's controls started falling off. My 5 Yr. old Treo still works great. Except for a brighter spot on the lower left side of the screen, it's still working just fine, including battery life, where I can play music with the speaker phone for half a day and I would still have enough juice to get me through the day.

With that testament, I hope the Android phone I'm looking to get soon have the same quality as my Palm Treo 600. :)

Seriously, I like my Droid, but had Apple announced an Iphone for Verizon late last year I'd still be waiting for my bite off the Apple. Now, you'll have to pry my rooted, wifi-tethered Droid from my cold dead hands. ;-)

EDITED: Words come to me, but the Droid doesn't tolerate my thin connection between hand and brain.

I'd probably stay with iPhone. Not because I like Apple, I hate they way they do business and all their fanbois (I feel SO uncomfortable in an Apple Store, those aren't my people), but because it does what i want it to do. Of course, to make it do EVERYTHING I want it to do, I had to jailbreak it. But I'm glad Android IS around, I plan on making the move to that when my iPhone contract ends in Summer '11!

I would still be using a dumbphone

This.

I came from a Motorola RAZR v3m, and I probably wouldn't have left the dumb phone market without Android. I never was all that interested in Windows Mobile, and had heard from a few people that it was pretty blek. I had never seen too many Blackberries at home before, so I was never exposed to that market. And I have always disliked Apple, even before I became interested in Android and my Moto Droid. So no chance I would have went there (plus, my family has Verizon, and wouldn't ever convert.).

So, I think it's safe to say that I'd still be rocking the RAZR. :)
